401kniggers seething
I really want to know what shit investment company they have running their 401k, I logged into mine and year-to-date I am at -2% total value (so I'm down 2% since January 2025). My biggest individual loss is because one index is mostly tech stocks which have had some ups and downs - that particular index is -9% YTD. However, my 1-year rate of return is +15.36 so my 401k is not hurting as bad as some people claim theirs is.

Either people are panicking over year to date changes, or they really need to look at their investment choices and diversify. A 401k is supposed to be ignored so it can grow, but every tree can benefit from pruning. This is like panicking that a tree took longer to sprout blossoms, even though it eventually did sprout.

when is the US gov going to make more prisons for all the illegal detainees, these private prison stocks are garbage.
Prisons suffer from NIMBYism. Cities with prisons are statistically safer and it does not affect property vallue, but people freak out about it. The same people who complain about overpopulation in prisons will scream and shout against putting a prison in their city.

A lot of 401(k)s are invested in China. Which uses slave labor sometimes.
I AM SO SICK OF SLAVERY. It's wrong and has always been bad. Having it stomped out in all forms is an ethical and moral good. Even if the global economy falters to some degree and needs to recover, it can't be based on the backs of exploited people and slave labor in this modern era.

Unless it's against people I dislike. Like, uh, people who blast mumble rap out the car windows at red lights, wiggers, fat people, and troons. Hell, we should gather up all the troons in the crop-picking fields and whip them if they mouth off. Then again, I would be kinda worried about that because I bet due to being sexual deviants while picking strawberries, some of the troons would shove some of the berries in their dick holes and try to dock each other out on the field while roleplaying as baby furries.

Depending on the size of the family, I know a foreign concept, I could see four hours in total including prep/cooking/serving/cleaning; not the norm though.

That's an interesting perspective, I don't think it is a bad one either. It's a mental game, when I was still working full time, I had to force myself to cook for about a month before it became just part of the extended, "work day". Only vegging out once I got the meal in my hand. I used to poo poo meal prepping, but it really is kind of handy to have a complete meal ready to get thrown into a pan. Not to mention canning/jarring your own soups! Done that when I had very limited budget. 20 bucks of resources could easily feed me for a couple weeks, the problem was the time investment. But if folks want something enough, they'll find a way.
A proper household should have 6 months of canned/jarred and other dry food stocks. It's one of those things women have failed our country on that might never matter or might result in millions lost to fammine one day.

What's wrong with super-basic? Most families only did fancy meals on Sundays, and incorporated the leftovers into basic meals for the rest of the week. The most basic meal is still fresher and more nutritious than fast food slop.

I can whack out a ribeye, baked potato, and corn on the cob in half an hour. The only prep is preheating the oven.

You are mentally disabled. Why has your mongoloid handler let you into this thread?

Fat fingers typed this post.

lmao I dont understand why people are disagreeing with you, 3 hours would be closer, 1 hour per meal, but genuinely if you want to cook a wholesome hot meal its at least 1 hour of prep and cook and clean per meal EASILY, maybe you cut it down by preping earlier in the week or ignoring cleaning but that time still counts.

Most people who get home after a long day of work on a hasty breakfast and minimal lunch dont have the energy to put together a complex meal and just opt for the easy route

Is this right? absoloutley not, is this good? same response. But its the reality for alot of hard working not super bright people and should be addressed, what he is getting at is why hunters/gatherers were 2 separate jobs 35,000 years ago, one person gets the shit, the other person is preparing the shit, simple as, then we went and fucked up the whole system.

This is legitimately the most retarded take I’ve read on this website, and that’s saying something.
Do you subsist solely on a diet of Beef Wellington or something where you need four hours a day to prepare food?

Turn off the tv and put down your phone. You'll be surprised by the amount of time you actually have.
That's all dependant on your personal situation. Back when I lived alone I had no issues with meal prep, I had like a massive 14 quart instant pot I could throw chicken into then use the juices to make rice and make a whole bunch of freezer containers with peas that I just pop in the microwave. When I was doing my hardcore dieting I just had canned tuna straight out of the can with a little bit of lemon pepper.

I'm no longer living on my own, and food has gotten so expensive that you have to hunt for whatever is on sale that meets diatery restrictions and make do with what you find. It's next to impossible to plan a meal when you don't get home until 5 or 6 and are so wiped you can barely stand. And if you have to get up really early the next day you don't always have that much time in the evening every evening to prepare a crock pot. I do try but some weeks are especially shitty and the improv meals are not great.

to prepare a crock pot.
There are such a thing as "dump-and-go" crock pot recipes. Throw the ingredients in, turn in on low, and in 5-7 hours you have dinner. You can even sort out the ingredients before to make organization better. Pressure cookers are also an option: throw food in, get dinner in 35 minutes.
