Mushoku Tensei was truly a pioneer in the wish fulfilment "my life is fucked and need a new universe to start over" genre.

It is a fucking blight on Anime as a whole. I am not surprised that 99% of its fans are gross pedophiles like the protagonist of that series.

Speaking of, would anyone here be interested in a sporking of the light novel as a separate thread? I skimmed through it in the past after an ex-friend of mine practically begged me to read it, and was disgusted by it (not just by the pedoshit, but also the terrible writing).

That series and how it's discussed is one of the biggest blackpills on anime as a whole to me. I saw the high praise and production value and genuinely thought that meant it was going to go the direction of "disgusting pedo gooner weeb gets a second chance at life and breaks out of his past life's mindset after experiencing the joy of earnestly living life". There's even a point in the story where the protagonist's dad slaps the shit out of him for happily fucking around on a goofy romcom adventure when most of his family is missing after fantasy 9/11.

Then once you go one step past that moment, the mask slips and it turns out the series is actually "reincarnated in another world to groom children (but I'm also in a child's body so it's okay.)" Seeing continuing high praise now just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'd definitely be interested in a thread going over how one of the most highly praised anime series in recent times is actually some of the worst pedo harem slop out there.

Thing is it's not even the greatest in that part. It got lucky with a insane animation studio behind it. I watched it. It was when I was really getting into my weeb phase.

The premise started interesting. Then it kept going. And going. Yes everyone talks about the pedophilia, which fair, but what about, for a entire 12 episode arc, Rudy's dick doesn't work. Yeah thats the plot. High entertainment right here. Man's cock doesn't work no more because the last chick ditched his ass and i guess gave him "trauma" (lmao).

This is peak apparently. My point being there is A LOT to tear apart Mushoku Tensei for.
