Family members have commented. I'd be surprised if it's a ruse. Fire's uncle posted saying his brother was in ICU before Fire mentioned anything and has also posted saying his brother has died.
Tallahassee isn't where he lived so I wouldn't expect announcements there - I'd expect them in either Jacksonville or Tennessee.

These are the posts prior to the post saying his dad had died. It seems like it was sudden and that he didn't realise the seriousness until he got to Tallahassee (and there might not have been enough information available when he left to predict the outcome). I wouldn't be surprised if he posted the photo when it had become apparent that his dad wasn't going to make it.
