I think the fact it isn't pozzed like Marvel/DC is the hook, or at least supposed to be. The problem with making that your USP is it means all you're really delivering is the same generic capeshit that completely over-saturated the market in the 80s and 90s.

There are tons of great comics even in the capeshit genre. I just find Eric's comics to be bad. His entire hook was in the premise of his company, not the story itself. The art is fine but it's also very flat most of the time. Dude needs some writing lessons. He's surrounded by better writers he should do a retreat and get some pointers. I give Eric nothing but credit for shitting on the comicsgrifters and they seethe to this day.

They never figured this shit out, it's crazy. How did the original golden age comics get printed? In stores? No they were on shitty pulp and newsprint with bleeding colors. How is Manga doing it? Anthologies in fat magazines with shitty Japanese newsprint that's designed to be consumed and chucked into the recycle bin the next week.

Yes it's not as pretty, but it gives you several advantages
1: Collaboration to make a magazine with other CG creators who can rally their clout
2: Not as much time and effort into creating the books since most of these guys are linkara-tier critics anyway, and need to learn how to tell a compelling story
3: More stories made quicker for people to buy, and it can be done cheaper.
4: bad stories and ideas get axed early.
5: Cheaper production means these books can be sold outside of your circles giving them wider appeal. You also have the fans for free marketing.

These new guys want the prestige of a Marvel-looking comic but don't want to put the work into telling an actual narrative. They shot themselves in the foot.

To felt these clowns one last time, to Dax and all the EJ haters, CHRIS CHAN is a better comic creator than all of you and your CG buddies. at least he got his books done...
