On point, and the most important thing is that that isn't even a very high bar to clear. Back in the day when restrictions on pornography were much more strict than now what the directors of porn films did was that they added some semblance of a plot to the film to claim that said scene was necessary for the work, and most of the time that was more than enough. This law will only affect things that should have been banned long agoBased. We are so back. In the spirit of no infighting, a clarification on the law, and why Journalists are hacks (the article above specifically)

In the article they said Goblin Slayer would be banned. But in the law in the definition of Obscenity which itself cites, under Section 43.21 (a) (1) (b), Obscenity only applies if the work lacks serious literary, artistic, political, and scientific value. In other words PORN.
I like Goblin Slayer but even I think GS in schools is fucking crazy. The fact that there were schools even letting Goblin Slayer be available for school kids to check out is just plain negligent.
Precisely Toji. Basically anything without a plot, or some form of artistic merit, disgusting for disgusting's sake, is getting flushed with this bill. It is NOT attacking things like manga you can buy at Barnes and Noble, which have a plot, characters, worlds, etc.On point, and the most important thing is that that isn't even a very high bar to clear. I ain't judging over here, that series is a pretty fun ride once you get past the first first couple of chapters. If only because its fun watching GS himself come up with increasingly more intricate ways to kill goblins.I like Goblin Slayer but even I think GS in schools is fucking crazy.
Goblin Slayer is immensely entertaining once it gets going. It's not for kids. Every volume of the manga has a parental advarisory label on it. How they didn't look at the cover and see that is beyond me. It shouldn't be in schools period. Kids aren't ready for that and the state shouldn't be providing it. Once they're adults, that's different, but they aren't, so keep it away from kidsI ain't judging over here, that series is a pretty fun ride once you get past the first first couple of chapters. But, that series can be traumatizing as hell for a young kid to read. You'd think school boards would have read the first two chapters to see that it isn't suitable for kids to read.
Yup. Taking on the government requires them getting up off their goon-chair, so…View attachment 7092577

"Texas lawmakers seen high-fiving after passing chud ruining bill banning loli. Pedos refuse to strike or organize in any meaningful way due to fear of "being accurately labeled". Further news, lawmakers agree Goblin Slayer is "Fuckin Kino" and anyone trying to put it in schools is a "degenerate weeb". More at 11."I like Goblin Slayer but even I think GS in schools is fucking crazy.
Bro watching those defenders in the other threads that people had to go to for this topic was so cringe inducing. We are so back.
I'm about to ruin the fun for everyone.

The language of the law explicitly states the offending content has to be "virtually indistinguishable" from an actual child. In other words, it has to look realistic. IE, AI generated CP, traced photos and possibly photorealistic illustrations. The kind of thing the US supreme court already carved out an exception for in obscenity law cases.
It's actually incredibly reasonable and should probably be the standard everywhere.
It can still be a cartoon. They would not write cartoon into the law if not. They write it that way due to the nature of obscenity laws in the US.Or maybe it refers to 1000 year old dragon maidens who are otherwise indistinguishable from other fictional children due to body proportions etc? The law can still bust people over CP even if it's an obvious cartoon?
