I really hate the reactionary articles SB20 spawned on the internet because it means everyone's running off sensational headlines that says "TEXAS IS ABOUT TO BAN ANIME!!!" written by retarded journalists who didn't fucking read the bill or the penal codes the bill references.

I've even had people bring up such articles in my friend group last night and I had to clarify to them that the journos are being retarded while specifying what SB20 really covers.

The point is that can hentai avoid breaking the law by just having a basic story and plot attached? Even if it doesn’t it’s enough of a supposed loophole that makes the law more ineffective at actually doing what it was made to do. It would’ve been better if it clearly specified what "serious literary, artistic, political, and scientific value" actually means, and also who or how many people must that “value” pertain to

I feel like you're conflating two very different genres together even though they're marketed and available to audiences in starkly different ways.
