How I have to explain to friends why Critical Drinker sucks & you shouldn’t take a word of his seriously

- Initially dislikes Gina Carano, asserting she plays woke Feminist character, proceeds to backpedal & simp for her when she gets into controversy over borderline Alt-Right social media posts, showing he has no backbone
- Went Nostalgia Critic mode and either misrepresented/misunderstood a lot of points in Knives Out: The Glass Onion, even if you dislike the movie, his skills for taking look at the movie are cringe-inducingly bad
- Defended Sound of Freedom, even though it’s based on a cocksucking Mormon sex offender that despite hunting pedo’s, has numerous women accusing him of exploiting them, & many others involved with catching pedophiles also accused him of being a lazy piece of shit
- Went on Russell Brand’s show, even though he raped a 16 year old & possibly others, is also a washed up grifter who had a hollow Hippy Dippy Leftwing image but suddenly became Rightwing when the world completely forgot he existed
- Also appeared on Ben Shapiro’s show, who Ben Shapiro is a faggot who simps for Israeli in the Gaza conflict, & is a failed writer himself

But the Critical Drinker & his parrots make me want to hate all the 80s-90s movies they dickride.
Look, Die Hard is fun, First Blood is great, Fight Club is misunderstood (by people like TCD) but still great, etc.

But that is ALL they will ever talk about!
Are you a movie lover, or are you a nerdy douchebag that only enjoys Action, Horror, & War Drama’s from those time periods?
These people get stumped when you bring up other great films from those older decades like Brazil, Kramer VS. Kramer, Messiah of Evil, Black Sabbath, Silent Running, Colossus: The Forbin Project, or Southern Comfort.

Slop has always existed, even in the 70s - 80s.
People like that don’t want new movies, they want everything they liked as a kid because they can’t grow the fuck up.
Don’t claim you are passionate about cinema if you only jerk off to Star Die Club Driver Jacketpocalypse Wars.

On the same level as “Yeah I love Metal!”

I used to be a huge fan of this retard few years ago and even recommended him to some of my friends, because ''he cares about movies'' or some bullshit. No, he doesn't. He's just a normie grifter who doesn't bother to make a video about something different that's not ''insert IP that Disney owns''. He claims that UGHHHH MOVIES USED TO BE GOOD and yet he rarely recommends good movies and believe me, there are good movies like I'm still here or Look Back, but he doesn't care. Oh wait, sorry, he watched Nosferatu, wow. I know that many people don't like YMS, but he explained perfectly on his stream how there are good movies and yet Drinker won't promote them. My favourite funny Drinker moment is this one where he says that people now prefer movies from eastern countries like Japan or South Korea and this fucking bozo can't even name a movie that isn't 20 years old. Like really? You can't even name Parasite or The Handmaiden?

The last good video Drinker put out was his revisit of Falling Down, which still suffered from the usual cultural disconnects of any UK or Euro reviewer looking at North American social critique.

I think Drinker did start from an honest point, but he is also a one-trick pony. Anything outside of a macho 90's hero is outside his area of expertise.

I don't actually blame him for going for that sweet YouTube money. Still, once he is outside his interests, he pretty much regurgitates the same opinions everyone else does in the Phcandom Menae grift game. He is definitively the most brand-safe of the bunch. His videos are a guilty pleasure of mine. He has a gimmick and he plays it well.

For me, Drinker feels so repetitive since he can have good points but then randomly just inserts his talking points without further explanation since he can go about female protagonists and then ramble on how the 80s were great with "MUH ELLEN RIPLEY AND SARUH CONNAH" or bringing up "THE MESSAGE"

Like it feels like unfunny running gags.

E;R in general is a more entertaining critic since even though I do disagree on his personal stances, the guy is really funny and he manages to at least be a critic first more than anything since he doesn't let his personal biases get in the way of anything like how he seemed pretty positive on NOPE and how his Live Action Death Note review is honestly one of the best reviews out there.

Like the guy is just really funny and better than the rest of the other sorta "right wing" reviewers who really put their politics first before being a reviewer which can be the problem with Critical Drinker

The Boys Season 4 was not a good season but holy hell actually watch the shit you're claiming to review instead of just rambling about critics scores and your own opinions about a season of television you didn't watch.

Yeah its easy to see more slop now due to the internet being a thing of widespread information but slop has existed in art since the beginning of time, its just all forgotten or never really preserved while only the highlights are ever remembered.

But Drinker and his ilk are part of the problem with modern films since all of these people are stuck in the past like the films they deride since everyone with 80s nostalgia can never just give up their toys. Hell these people like Drinker never talk about anything outside of garbage blockbusters and could use their platforms to be promoting lesser known films. The only time Drinker ever promoted anything that was indie was his own garbage.

I respect his editing skills and his ability to craft a joke and make it land. That's not easy as you might think when creating long-form content.
