General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Her bitching about dramatubers isn't really a new development, she's been doing it periodically for some time now.
"if you were pressured, interrogated, and had things held over your head while you begged for privacy you'd hate them too"
Why does she write like False tortured and waterboarded her for information. they presumably spoke on discord, just block him and be done with it.

Like don't get me wrong, drama grifters deserve the rope but jesus these V&U girls and twisty here are so melodramatically retarded. Or to put it more simply.

It feels like "dramatuber" is increasingly being thrown around as an ad hominem smear against anyone who's content at least in-part focuses on the goings on of the industry and the personalities in it, not even people trying to stir shit up or just straight up gossip.

False's content essentially indistinguishable from what an entertainment industry journalist looked like 20 years ago. The idea that he is some kind of unique and emerging menace is retarded. I'm not the audience, his voice annoys me, but 200k subs disagree with me. Not to mention that every one of the bitches bitching have literally, explicitly, signed up/chosen to portray a public persona, interacting with a public audience, on multiple social media platforms, in exchange for money and influence (more money).

You don't get to put your assumed identity as out there as you possibly can and then complain that you don't want people on a no-no list to talk about you, that paypiggin' and praise are the only acceptable methods of interacting/mentioning with said public persona.

False has been reporting on vtuber drama and news for what, 3 maybe 4 years now? He’s not an unknown factor at all, to my knowledge he was one of the first to start doing it full time and get successful from it. I rarely watch his videos but I’m subscribed just so I can keep an eye on things.

Vtubing isn’t the same as it was 5 years ago, it’s a big industry now. Half of this drama you see with smaller indies feels so manufactured, it’s probably the only way they can get eyes on them.

I’m glad that Phase is mostly drama free. It seems like the biggest scuttlebutt they have had recently is Clara being a bit of a sperg on her alts, and that really is a nonissue.

Olivia Monroe (low 4view, collabs with Phase's Kaneko Lumi sometimes) has been banned from twitch as of 20 minutes ago https://streamerbans.com/user/oliviamonroe

Her page says "Content from this channel has been removed at the request of the copyright holder."

I watched a bit before it happened, but was not watching when it happened. She was playing Assassin's Creed: Shadows, which was odd because none of the big streamers were playing it yet. She thought drops were on and someone in chat said they weren't for some hours (apparently 10am PST so still another 2 hours or so).

There are other streamers on twitch under the category, but the biggest one is playing Mirage (not Shadows) and the rest are waiting rooms.

My guess is that she probably wasn't supposed to play until 10am PST

So she was paid by Ubislop to play their shitty niggaz in Japan game, and she was also retarded and didn’t understand the proper time to stream the game (but seemingly a dumb mistake). If Ubisoft doesn’t at least work with Twitch to have her unbanned then I could see this becoming a bad PR situation for them that only compounds this guaranteed flop of a game.

I personally dislike them because I’ve never been a fan of TMZ-like factions, but they are an inevitable consequence of any medium that experiences a rise in popularity.

I even know people who work in that industry, and what many regular people don’t realize is that it’s never about getting all the facts right—it’s about putting the general idea out there, knowing that onlookers will interpret and react to the story however they choose, regardless of how well it’s told.

It’s similar to the whole Niji situation; there was already an ongoing rivalry between the sisters and the Holo Bros over which company was "King of the Hill." So, the moment the rainbow company started to reveal its flaws, it triggered a massive domino effect that had been building up for a while.

That sucks. I wanted to watch her MGS4 playthrough but saw she was playing Nigs in Jap and moved on because I have no interest in that game.
I guess she broke NDA or whatever the fuck it's called. Probably got the time wrong because she's a bit of an airhead.
I love Ollie though, I'd highly reccomend her streams.

Honestly, in the scope of all the shit Ubisoft is about to get, I highly doubt this will even register.
Maybe it will be some kind of break-out issue, but if it's a case of she just misread the timezone, people aren't going to care if she keeps a temp ban for a few days for it.

There were also box copies of the game being sold about a month ago so they probably have a hard stance of DMCA for stopping those people from streaming it. Once they see it was one of their paid promotions going too early they'll probably take it back.

Which is true, but that's also why I would say calling them dramatubers isn't ad hominem.

They're inevitable but they're just vtubing's equivalent of TMZ tabloid trash.

Well if she wanted to make the statement that's the right way to do it. By both just making it known "hey I don't like when people make this joke" but also telling her viewers to not lose their shit at other viewers that might still do it.

She said months ago that she could get away with pretty much anything she'd ever consider doing, but holds a lot back because a lot of the more risque stuff like talking about lolcows could negatively affect her friends and the company, and she doesn't want that.
Yeah, she has expressed concerns about her coworkers. Maybe one day the entire company will become corrupted and go full Pipkin. I can hope.

Also, could you imagine her playing Pokemon Clover?
"O.K. chat we need a good HM slave let's catch a Vandash. Nickname? How about George Floyd?"

Do you think that would be something she would do if uninhibited?

Given it is Ubisoft.
I trust it was more them fucking up than her.
They have been dropping the ball CONSTANTLY the past few months on everything marketing and PR related.

Yeah, she's not my cup of tea most days, even when she has a guest I like, but she's a zoomer with zoomer humor, what a shock. I do respect her energy and always having something to say, and quick responses. Seems to have a really good work ethic as well.

Seems like fansly is the new version of patreon (which is pozzed anyway) where you throw up some extra content to make a few extra bucks. Just because people use it for porn doesn't mean everyone does.
Fansly is desperate to create this kind of appearance. They know the vast majority of their revenue is, and always will be pornographic in nature. But payment processors don't want to allow any kind of pornography-based transactions in their service. So my guess is that Fansly sponsored a bunch of Vtubers to post wholesome pictures to try and create the appearance of a more sanitized service. The problem is the kind of Vtuber that wouldn't fear the association with Fansly are more on the whore side (except filian), and when they saw the potential revenue, they slowly started sliding towards more debauched content, especially with the scarlet letter of being on Fansly already being associated with them.
Filian is a more special case, she's clearly courting a more family-friendly audience, makes me wonder how much money they threw at her to get her on their platform. 7 figures wouldn't surprise me.
