Been listening to the podcast a lot lately, really makes me glad Sam rebooted Hyde Wars with The Sam Hyde Show. Nick dominates the podcast, which is good, Nick is great as always. Sam seems to not really even fit in or do well on his own podcast, it's gotten really weird. He will keep going back to bits minutes after the podcast has moved on, or will clarify a fact they talked about 10 minutes pater.

Sam's best non-comedy stuff is when he is sitting alone and talking to his camera, Hyde Wars was great content to listen to and glean some info and wisdom from. Dear Elon was a great return to this. Eps. 2 and 3 have been weak, but still have good parts.

MDE.tv at least saves your place in the videos now, still wishing for audio only versions.

I’m with you here too. I don’t like Luke’s participation, I don’t care about fishtank and he seems too eager to suck dick, in my clip he’s even saying “yes!” while disagreeing. I don’t know if I’m thrilled about Jay Dyer writing either.
Hyde Wars was best when it was Sam’s stream of consciousness, blog-style reflections instead of a podcast. He had a few good long Instagram stories he would do a few years ago that had the vibe of a short HW. I think the most important component is it just being him [mostly] alone talking to a camera, because you can tell that he hears what he’s saying and responds to it, as if he’s already his own audience and co-host. That’s not present when he’s talking to someone else in the room instead.
I’m not really interested in ever hearing him talk about Christianity any other way, while I’m at it— he’s got wisdom, but he loves Jonathan pageau and Jay dyer and there is no way he’s ever set foot in a church. I believed Norm’s turn to Christianity, he didn’t feel the need to be seen a based intellectual. That’s genuine humility that you don’t see from the types whose biggest priority is maintaining the ego they got from hitting people online with TOTAL New Atheist Skepticism PWNAGE as perma-8th grade 20-somethings.
It’s better when he’s more involved in the editing, too, since he’s better at conveying his own train of thought than anyone else could be.

I was going to say that at least his new younger guys seem to be at least 30 with some life experience, but Luke being a fanboy makes that a moot point.

I really wish Sam would make a forum on the site. One that people didn’t have to pay in order to participate in, so it could be like the old subreddit or his Facebook page, because the comment sections so far are just saying “great video!”. That’s really the only reason I’m even here.

I think one of the reasons Sam has been let back onto the internet is there is no central place the fans can congregate and let out their full autism and make Sam look bad. I get that part of the reason he has been let back in is because people realize you cant really do anything to stop him, but with fishtank, he said he's not going to be full free speech man and let his fans get his payment processor to drop him. Even on mde.tv, the podcasts are censored. Idk the community seems more "mature" now but that could be because most of his fans are hitting their 30s and have well paying jobs and families now.

I think he’s been “let back” onto the internet because Idubbbz gave him the opportunity to make his persona look like a joke, and so many of his social media accounts got nuked previously that it was too hard for the average brainlet to look into on their own. That wasn’t the fault of MDE fans, though, it was Sam repeatedly doing this shit kek

I think that was a moment where he was scolding the audience as if he was talking to himself from the past, but he seems back to being a free speech absolutist again nowadays. The videos are still censored on the site because they need to future-proof them in the event that he becomes more popular; he already anticipates getting clip chimped.
Fishtank is a different story. He understands that he can’t completely prioritize free speech on fishtank because he wants investors, but he does still want it to maintain some edge because he’s trying to break edge back into the mainstream.
I thought they were planning on phasing gumroad out anyway and make MDE.tv it’s own subscription service. I think that’s what Destiny does? And the new mobile site is formatted a lot like Destiny’s. The wiggers might be taking notes, since he’s in a similarly precarious position.

Either way, fans brigading was never what screwed him over. I remember a long time ago he used to talk about wanting to make his own forum for us, too. Taking my first point into consideration, maybe it would work best as an image board with expiring threads, and MDE GOLD users would have access to thread archives. Give us boards to talk about those skills we need get. Then he’ll get a place to scout for self taught indie game developers.

Zipp is actually pretty decent. Very unique flavor, not the best but good. The can and box are nice looking. I actually like that it's got so little caffeine, I try not to drink any. Idc about the vitamin bs but 12g of sugar from guava juice. Overall I'm impressed with Bic's work but it's way too expensive after shipping to buy again.

I'm checked out on Hyde/MDE after Fishtank's first season mostly. The fandom that surrounds them is just too insufferable and gets in the way of most of the content. I think MDE has their moments of being genuinely funny still, but I'm not buying a sketch comedy group's generic influencer shill product and thinking upper middle class art school graduates are sage oracles to drop superchat money asking for life advice. I get it though, they all want money and found ways to keep the cash flow going.

I think a lot of people on the right like Norm because they consider him to be some type of wholesome/religious figure, and, most importantly he stood against the industry which is heckin basederino. I don't know if that's true or not but it's definitely people's perception of him. Good natured dad humor with an edgy twist.

He was "edgy" at a time when it was desperately needed and that ended up being an easy way to securing a new fanbase (see the subject of this thread as an example).

The archive references this video (preservetube) where bicflame is still "shouting out" Ross some months after his being exposed. This reddit comment chain (archive) makes reference to this association, and bicflame is noticeably absent in the replies while replying to other more recent comments on his post.

As far as the DMing goes, it's referencing his infamous leaked "golf balls" DMs where he repeatedly mentions a woman having golf balls going in and out of her asshole.
