Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Pardon the phone posting, but the post call T & Z convo seems professional and not 'frank' which really means shouting match in diplomatese:

Bernd Debusmann Jr
Reporting from the White House

The phone call between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky has ended.

In a post on his Truth Social social media account, Trump described the call as "very good" and lasting about one hour.

"Much of the discussion was based on the call made yesterday with President Putin in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs," he wrote.

"We are very much on track," Trump added.

Trump said that he's requested that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz "give an accurate description of the points discussed".

A further statement will be published "shortly", he added.

We're likely to hear more details of the call from Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt at a briefing at 13:00 EST (17:00 GMT)

Trump needs to ditch the 51st state shit. It's brought the Liberal Party and Carney's prospects back from imminent political death. It's also a bit putin-like and frankly mad.

GUR ACKs expensive Russian equipment with sea launched night vision FPV drones.
💥 Rumble in Crimea: under attack - enemy air defense systems, naval vessels and a helicopter
📣 The invaders in the temporarily occupied Crimea trembled for several days from an unprecedented rumble - their expensive air defense systems proved helpless against the well-aimed strikes of the soldiers of the Air Defense Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
🎥 The video shows the results of the successful demilitarization of the peninsula - a number of Russian radar stations (RAL) were hit:
● 2x 48Ya6-K1 “Podlyot”
● 2x 1L125 “Niobium-SV”
● 3x 39N6 “Kasta 2E2”
● 9S19 “Imbir”
● “Niobi-SV”
● S-300VM;
● “Niobi-M”
● 59N6-E “Protivnik-GE”
● “Mys” radar

The S-300SV launcher, the ST-68 radar command posts and the 39N6 Kasta 2E2 radar, as well as three Muscovite Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun complexes, a project S4236 transport and tugboat, the Fyodor Uryupin universal tug, and the Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian occupiers were also hit.
Thank you to the "Return Alive" charity foundation for its significant contribution to the demilitarization of the occupation army!

Looks like the Russians haven't yet coped with a rowboat sized aircraft carrier pulling up and launching precision strikes using FPV drones on targets 10+km inland.

Witkoff says that last night's Russian drone attack was an accident and the Russians even shot down some of their own drones.
On the night of March 19, 2025 (from 19:00 on March 18 ), the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, and 145 Shahed attack UAVs and simulator drones of various types from the directions: Bryansk, Orel, Shatalovo, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russia.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
💥 As of 08:00, it has been confirmed that 72 Shahed attack UAVs and drones of other types have been shot down in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and Odessa regions.
56 enemy drone simulators were lost in location (without negative consequences).
The Sumy, Odesa, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions were affected by the Russian attack.

If only Trump was president of a country that had some means to get intelligence about what is actually happening, but I guess if your Director of National intelligence gets her information from Russia Today and Ian Miles Cheong, this is the outcome.

I've seen this one, people pointed out that the truck is already disabled, empty and just standing still. Were they shooting a propaganda video or tried to claim easy bounty by scamming their superiors?
It's standard to destroy abandoned vehicles to make sure they are not recovered by the enemy. There's been some criticism that some things in Kursk were destroyed needlessly, but it's probably not super obvious to individual drone operators what the overall status of the ebb and flow is.

Unfortunately given Canada geographic location and failure to have beyond a token military, it is in the United States interests to square away Canada on it's political and military obligations. Iirc Truman or Eisenhower had this conversation with Canada before in the 1950ies. Except back then Canada knew better then to argue and instead defended their northern borders from the Soviet Union.

And when you call them out on their lies, they get asshurt, because they want to be seen as respectable, but also at the same act as subhuman degenerates. Too bad, that's not how it works. You act like deranged retards, and I will treat you accordingly.
@Ghostse and other MAGA people, defending against an imperialistic power that threatens annexation, that claims other citizens were really their citizens with a funny accent and violates international borders is a big part of the reason so many people support Ukraine.

Now that Trump has threatened Canada with annexation, claiming it should be the 51st State (without their consent) and being all cozy with authoritarian leaders, I amicably recommend you go to the other thread, where they are openly pro Trump. Don't take this as an insult, but supporting Trump and the Ukrainian cause at the same time has become logically untenable and throwing trashcans and puzzles at each other won't solve that.

I've seen reports of that. This would mean Ukraine developing a nuclear device, which Zelensky talked about a little while back, could never happen. That's patently the intent.

Canada does need to upgrade their military, at least to the comparable strength it once had. However, the 51st state shit is something Trump needs to knock off.

To build nuclear weapons, Ukraine would need enrichment facilities which are big industrial enterprises that cannot be hidden, and Ukraine doesn't have any. Unilaterally pursuing this would alienate the EU, and the years of prep time to enrich enough fuel would give the Russians ample time to intervene.
In any case, the IAEA is already monitoring all Ukrainian nuclear facilities.

Regarding the other claims made by the Americans: Ukraine has been running nuclear power plants since the 1970s, they don't need some American oligarch to siphon off money oversee them.
The idea that they would need protection is also baseless, since the Russians have shown no interest in targeting them, likely because there are Russian nuclear power plans in comfortable range of Ukrainian missiles and drones, most famously the one in Kursk. They target transformer stations and such (I don't know the proper terminology) to get these plants off the grid.

Canadian politicians love to just siphon funds that should be going to the CF and figure out some way to make it take as physically long as possible to see new kit released. You want a laugh look at the boot standardization that they have been trying to work on for the past idk 20ish years. Canada also was the first nation to get on the F-35 program but still has yet to get one. Its just a giant mess.

Just because the CAF have a serious procurement problem is no fucking excuse to threaten annexation. Especially by the US President and those threats accompanied with aggressive tariffs. Also, did Denmark have any problems in their military that justify annexation by the US?
However, the 51st state shit is something Trump needs to knock off.
He won't, since he's an imbecile who shits on any basic diplomatic exchange and thinks "leverage" is making enemies out of allies. Pissing people off and scaring them so that they buy more military hardware (but not from you to avoid it being "leveraged") is not a genius 4D chess win.

@No. 7 cat Unfortunately with Trump on a timer i.e. his second term of office, he can't afford to dial anything down or knockoff. With Canada being sold and/or given away out from under Canadians to the Chinks and Pajeets, the United States have to deal with it's little communist govt leaf fucking sibling now.

Edit Back to Ukraine, Ho Le Fuck the western Euros had fuck themselves and everyone else by betting nearly all of their farms on Uncle Sam being their protector and military into perpetually. Cause they're doing inventory of what amd who they got and they ain't ready for any war for the near future, should Ukraine falls.

Canada is buying advanced over the horizon radar systems from Australia

Canada buys JORN - Australian Defence Magazine

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced his country intends to acquire an Over-the-Horizon Radar Network through a partnership with Australia.

The partnership was confirmed in a call with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Tuesday.

Carney made the announcement while visiting the Arctic amidst concerns over Ottawa’s sovereignty, as the United States threatens annexation and seeks to acquire Greenland.

Canada’s Arctic Over-the-Horizon Radar system will be an investment of more than C$6 billion that will provide early warning radar coverage from threats to the Arctic.

“A key component of Canada’s NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) modernization plan, the radar system’s long-range surveillance and threat tracking capabilities will detect and deter threats across the North,” Canadian PM Carney said. “Collaboration with Australia on this critical technology will further deepen our long-standing bilateral defence relationship, while supporting Canada’s commitment to strengthening North American defences in partnership with the United States.”

Senior Canadian government officials reportedly briefed Canadian journalists that the acquisition from Australia had been ‘well received’ in NORAD command but would not comment on how it would be received in Washington.

PM Carney also announced that Canada would invest C$420 million in a sustained Canadian Armed Forces presence in the Arctic.

The Jindalee Over-the-Horizon Radar, or JORN, is an integral part of Australia's national defence capability, with an established network of three remote Over The Horizon Radars (OTHR) located in the Northern Territory, Queensland and Western Australia.

According to BAE Systems, JORN works by refracting high-frequency electromagnetic waves off the ionosphere to 'see' objects thousands of kilometres away that are invisible to conventional radars because of the curvature of the earth.

The system is Australian-designed and built, and provides wide-area surveillance of ships and aircraft out to 3000 kilometres. Now in its fourth decade of service, it continues to undergo a Phase 6 upgrade by BAE Systems Australia and 110 local companies.

Never said they did. I just stated that both political parties have been dogfucking when it comes to refreshing the CFs gear.
Trump is a dumb turbonigger in my opinion with all his annexation talk that has only driven wedges into long standing alliances which I doubt will heal until generations down the line and his flavour of republicanism has fucked off.

The administration signs executive orders prohibiting trooning out children because its child abuse. The administration scraps the program keeping track of all those Ukrainian kids kidnapped by Russia because...? Can anybody here name me one good reason why this program had to go? Trump might have brought up the prospect of reestablishing it in his latest phone call with Zelensky, but I have my doubts the Ukrainians working with the US on the matter will ever again be able to fully trust them.

I assume the cope will be something like: The abducted children make Russia look bad, and you don't get a deal by saying bad things about the other side. The cope of course falls apart once you look at how Trump "negotiates" with everyone else, but that contradiction has never bothered MAGA posters before.

Alternatively: Good, the US should never pay to help foreign countries, "America First".

I wonder whether Putin told Trump to ask for this, because it would prevent Ukraine from forcing the Russians to keep it shut down.
Basically, the plant would operate to the benefit of Russia under US protection, in return for an insignificant amount of money paid to an American oligarch.

The WH used the plural form several times though.

Trump is an abysmal negotiator and easily duped, but I wonder whether he is actually too stupid to understand what Putin was asking for and instead thought "wow free power plants, never thought of that heist".

Edit: I circled the location of the nuclear power plant.

The square is a cooling water pond. The large "grey zone" between the lines is the bed of the former reservoir that emptied after the Russians blew up a damn to secure their flank prior to the 2023 Ukrainian offensive.

They made a movie (Comedy you fucking autists) about it for fucks sake
And lets not forget the old Fallout-series chestnut

This is why Eurofags need to stay out of US politics.
Trump is calling out the Canucks for selling their entire country to the Chinks & letting their military degrade to nothing.

tl;dr: He's not talking about annexing Alberta so you all really need to stop getting your world view from the top patients of the TDS infection ward.

Don't take this as an insult, but supporting Trump and the Ukrainian cause at the same time has become logically untenable and throwing trashcans and puzzles at each other won't solve that.

This and the fact that that Canada is selling off the country to the CCP and allowing them to soft take over.
Canada is set to become a massive security vulnerability and Trump is bringing that point to full day light. In about the most inelligant way possible but he's not wrong.

Canada does need to upgrade their military, at least to the comparable strength it once had. However, the 51st state shit is something Trump needs to knock off.
they also need to stop becoming a CCP colony, because Vancouver is practically the 23rd province.

Because there is 40+ years of retarded foreign spending that has enabled embedded parasites to continue to glut themselves on tax dollars and the only way to keep them from trying to protect their little fiefdoms is to burn everything.
Trump tried the targeted approach last time, got stymied, so this time he's using a sledgehammer.

There should have been a better plan to rehydrate stuff that does work, but people act like this this shit comes out of nowhere when its been a long, long time coming.

It's not quite a killswitch, but like with Imperial Iran's F-14 Tomcats, friendship means a connection to US parts and expertise. Clerical Iran has kept some going but with difficulty and some reverse engineering. Even if Trump turns full Slava Ukraini tomorrow, Ukraine will never see an F-14 for that reason. Tom Cooper likened it to a phone subscription. It can be used only if cut off with unlocking and reverse engineering, but it's really hard. Simpler Soviet stuff is easier to master. Ukraine had a major enough MiG-29 servicing industry even after breaking with Moscow.
The "killswitch" is only if they use the US' network. Israel ponied up to build their own. EU nations, if they were actually concerned and not making a performative face-saving move (and had actual defense budgets), could also do the same.
No "reverse engineering" is needed to use the F-35 if access is cut off, only to update. i.e. GPS accuracy would slowly drift.
The only real "kill switch" is that you you'd need to get parts on the open market instead of having access & price set via contract.

Re: Iran, that's Also why we don't get have any F-14s at airshows, yet another reason to hate Islam.

The F-14 is also a good 15-20 years out of date for the current environment (counter point: Russia's equipment is 30 years out of date). If they had kept up with Avionics updates and we've gotten the "Super Tomcat", hunting and spotting Cruise Missiles is exactly what the F-14 was designed for. But they didn't and its a little late to start now.

France has spoken of extending the area of its nuclear deterrent and Poland is interested in being part of that or perhaps hosting US nukes.

If Ukraine moved carefully, which they have been doing, with Zelensky keeping everyone from Macron and Meloni (tho Italy is wary, along with Spain of the latest aid package and apart from the AfD Moskal rape babies, Euro far right parties AfD excepted generally at least nominally support Ukraine) to Trump content, they could gain protection of nuclear weapons whether their own or others. Ukraine rarely moves unilaterally (Kursk perhaps), and there they can sincerely make the case that with a liar and kiler in Moscow and Washington wobbly, Ukraine needs nukes. They had before conceded Russian or CIS command control before giving them up with the Budapest accord, so this would be new ground, but it's respect in the gangland sense these days that counts. Even Trump listened when Zelensky said Ukraine might need nukes.

IAEA would certainly let Russia know in double quick time if Ukraine was developing weapons. The officials of that Vienna based org are friendly with Russia beyond what professional courtesy requires.

In the 1990s Ukrainians from Odesa made a TV show about stupid Russians and sold it to Russia:

It's hardly a matter of controversy that Trump's rhetoric towards Canada alongside tariffs has cause offence resulting in mass product boycotts and the revival of both Maple nationalism and the bringing back from the dead, in an uber-Lazarus sense, of Liberal Party fortunes. Pierre Poilievre is looking a discount Trump, but now says only he is tough enough to take on Trump Doug Ford of Ontario has threatened to increase electricity rates, reviving his political star and Trudeau was relishing the last few weeks. It's not being taken as good natured joshing.

The time for elegance came and went long before Trump was even elected back in 2016.

F-14 were designed for spotting and hunting the bombers before they can launch the anti-ship and cruise missiles. Cheney fucked the U.S. Navy to an unfathomable level when he order the destruction of the F-14 production lines.
