Why would anyone possibly think Brianna wants to leave the democratic party? Could it be because the only people he has civil conversations with are right-wingers? When was the last time he talked to a democrat without accusing them of being bad faith or acting like a smug shithead?

Regardless of their political views, they have actually done verifiable work to establish themselves. Things like get a degree, write a book, or even just maintain a podcast. John has nothing. His thought process seems to be “I’m right, if reality doesn’t match that, that’s reality’s problem.” Even to people he wants something from, he’s not listening - just pausing until he can speak again.

That first part is such a bizarre argument, and again highlights the fact that he doesn’t have a theory of mind. How does he know how a woman feels attraction? How does he know his way differs from other gay men? I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s decided the fact that he has emotions sets him aside from other men.
