I just reread Tom Clancy's Without Remorse (hes a military autists dream come true). If you're not familiar with the book there's a drug ring featuring prostitutes as drug mules as a major plot point.

I won't pretend to know more about that scene than what's presented in a fiction novel, but from what little I do know about the actual plights of prostituted women the book isn't that far off. Drugs, sadism, beatings, stds, and eventually murdered in a lot of cases.

I have a new hatred for Russ, because I can't imagine the life of a legal prostitute being all that dissimilar, maybe not beatings and sadism from the pimps, but drugs are very likely. If nothing else it dulls the reality of the profession.

No man who loves women as people goes into becoming a pimp. The only reason he hasn't gotten into illegal trafficking of women is because he's scared of baggy pantsed thugs, and his face. He can't lure a woman into his control.

There is something seriously wrong with Russ, as if we didn't already know that.

Good book though.

As someone a wee older than Russ, I never got why the "square" grownups were anti rap. We knew what pimps were we knew what gangs were and selling drugs was.

All of it shit people and shit stuff. Calling someone or something pimp... We all did it with no respect to the abusers who actually are pimps.

I try not to be a language police and understand it was slang but next time I see a cool car with fancy wheels I won't call it pimped out because "dude those speakers are rapists" isn't exactly even slang like "bad" for something you like.

It's a really fucked up goal to want to actually embrace causing kids to overdose, abuse women (cheating taxes is based tho) or shoot people who wear wrong clothing. I get slang and all but it's kinda scary when you deal with a drooling freak who goes "yeah hurting women is cool I hope to do that when I grow up".

We know he's got some sister (blood) issues I wonder aside being a perv freak how much that messed with his sexual deviant brain.

Also lol he's never gonna get laid again even paying.

Why did Hof need avenging anyway he just died like a normal old person. He wasn't Russ friend anyway.

People keep asking what "I will AVENGE YOU DENNIS HOF!!!!1!!!!!111!!!!!" means

I don't think Russ means Dennis Hof's death, but the closure of his brothel, which Russell will "avenge" by opening the Mile High Neon against the wishes of the anti-brothel group, perhaps on the same grounds after he sues it out from under them

Russell responds to the troll in a pretty measured tone. No "Why the FRICK won't you duckers just leave me alone???? I DESERVE DIGNITY LIKE ANYONE ELSE!!! I have contacted the police!!" I'm not sure what that implies. Maybe he's received so many troll messages over the years that he's become somewhat desensitized.

This. Crusty Rusty is (by his own doing) incredibly isolated and lonely and desperate for human contact. The internet allows him to cosplay as many things: entrepreneur, musician, screenwriter, legal eagle, young stud, fitness fanatic, Vegas expert etc. But none of that really matters to him if other people don't acknowledge him in some way and validate all the cool/exciting things he's doing. He's constantly chasing that affirmation and recognition and the relative anonymity of the internet is an easy way for him to try and "talk" to people even though it's nothing more than him desperately saying "please notice me!!".

Weird thing is, it seems he's only desperate for contact from hookers. He doesn't share as much from his daily life since he moved to Vegas, but he never mentioned his difficulties with finding friends, it's only ever about hookers, which leads me to believe he never even tried. I'm sure there are some support groups in Vegas for people with speaking difficulties/disabilities, but I'm also 100% sure that he never bothered with those.

So yeah, I think he feels lonely, but I think he believes that would forever change when he gains easy access to hookers because then he will never be lonely, so he's 100% committed to that venture.
