It'd probably be a good idea for someone to trying putting together a proper OP, given he's still out there. It's also still pretty incredible how his art style hasn't improved at all in over 20 years, but it might also be in part because his work is very intentionally meant to appeal to children.

I'm even more surprised he hasn't gotta into trouble again. The event ten years ago could have gotten him in prison but for whatever reason that never happened. A rewrite OP would be great for newcomers who never heard of him while updating old users who thought he died or something. Wonder who will step it up in that ring?

It's really pertinent he get an updated OP and this thread given more attention, given he was exposed as a pedophile and likely even a rapist. His current identity and activity seem more explicitly targeted towards children than ever before too, and he apparently even has his own discord channel. While this is partially due to him being a profound manchild with stunted artistic ability, it really underscores how predatory and tenacious he is.

There were so many accusers back then and so much evidence against him, but in terms of actual legal ramifications, nothing came of it, and he was allowed to build a new identity and fanbase over a decade later with a younger audience than before. From what I read of the accusers and how much of his behavior related to online "abuse" and psychotic nerd drama, I think that's atleast testament to how many of his victims and former associates were deeply broken and disturbed people in their own right, and I think others ITT echoed this. In particular, I remember one of his victims wrote a thesis-length, exhaustively detailed Tumblr post recounting her time with him, which she ended off with saying she didn't really regret any of her experiences with him and how it exposed her to things she never would have otherwise. I also remember she mentioned that before she got with Byron, her prior boyfriend was into loli guro, so it kind of seemed like she had a thing for sadistic pedophiles. I think she was "Liz."

But yeah there is a bit of an urgency here given he's a middle aged child predator who's seemingly cultivated a brand new fanbase of autistic Sonic zoomers/alphas. My only familiarity with him beyond this thread was reading his site when I was young so much of this is beyond me.

@Plo-K00n Unfortunately, I'm not skilled at creating detailed threads about someone like him. I wasn't around during his peak of fame. I only learned about him after his cancellation, so any content from the Wayback Machine related to his websites and social media is likely lost. This was also a period when hackers targeted the Wayback Machine, potentially erasing information about Psyguy's origins and his poorly received comics. While it's possible he requested the Wayback Machine admins to remove his social media for privacy reasons, it's more probable that those sites still exist on their servers but are no longer publicly accessible.

Additionally, Liz didn't help her case by behaving worse than her abuser, even though she played a role in exposing him. Her failure to file a police report significantly hinders any chance of real justice and a thorough police investigation that could lead to his imprisonment. As I mentioned in previous posts, the only readily available resources are an Encyclopedia Dramatica article, an old Kiwi Farms thread about him, and a few rare archive.today links that have thankfully survived.

My best course of action is to reframe this as a cautionary tale about how fame as a Sonic artist can ruin someone's life. The timeless Spider-Man quote, "With great power comes great responsibility," as taught by Uncle Ben, remains relevant. I hope someone will eventually step up and create a comprehensive rewrite of Psyguy's story.

Admittedly wasn't asking you to put together a thread, just emphasizing how pertinent it is a proper OP get made at some point and this thread become more active. Even if that's true about wayback, there's still likely much evidence on archive.is from back then, especially from the compilation post on Tumblr.

How exactly did "Liz" behave worse than her abuser? I read parts of her post about her years with him and didn't readily get that impression, just that she was a fucked up freak in her own right and likely a psycho of some kind as well. Here it is again: https://archive.ph/hcFSo

It's admittedly not quite as long as I remember, but still embarrassingly detailed. And the one passage that still stands out to me:
the strangest thing is, i’m not sure i even regret the wasted years spent on psy, and how long it took me to grow out of needing his emotional validation. it was part of my development as an adult; if it wasn’t for choosing certain things at certain paths, i wouldn’t be where i am now or have gotten to see the world the way i have. i have experiences that most other people wouldn’t get to have. i might have graduated from that college in tennessee, married the high school guy, been a mother of two and died 60 years from now in an old folks’ home. i might have burned out, become an alcoholic like my father, died in a gutter five years ago from some sort of drug overdose in a ghetto in dallas. i might have bounced around a couple times, met a lot of genuinely kind people, lost my way a couple times, eventually found a job i like in an area i’ve lived in now for three+ years, met a guy i love and have friends that care about me and for the most part have straightened out my shit. who knows.

regardless, i wouldn’t wish the lessons of my path on anyone, certainly not some poor young girl who just likes sonic the hedgehog or my little pony or whatever and decides to start talking to a manipulative pedophile sack of shit emotionally controlling douchebag that only talks down to those younger than him for validation and those more popular than him to climb up on like stepladders. please. don’t. it’s taken me about three hours to sit down and piece this together, and even that time feels like a wasted effort; but it’s the most thought i’ve given in a couple years now, and it’s kind of weird that it’s the most positive thing i’ve done regarding the most negative shit i’ve done.

Also, Liz wasn't his only accuser. There were apparently many. Even if it was mostly about online "abuse", there was enough testimony to his pedophilia, which included multiple accusations he had child porn (IIRC even from people he had photos and video of) and atleast one rape accusation that even the testimony to his non-criminal behavior should have been enough to help build a case against him. And somehow they all failed to bring any actual legal action against him, which allowed him to resurface and likely start preying on children in his 40's.

I remember there were people talking about preventing him from doing this to another generation of teenagers, and yet it looks like that's exactly what's happened. If this amounts to a "cautionary tale" it should also be how horribly inept Sonic fans are even when it comes to putting someone who sexually abused them in prison.

Also just spoke to a friend of mine who decided to watch some of his videos and remarked about half of it seems to be him being an extreme manchild and the other him explicitly trying to appeal to kids. Specifically his videos apparently have this fast-paced "random O_o" skibidi toilet humor meant for that age. So again, he's clearly preying on children and all of his accusers from 10+ years ago completely failed to prevent this from happening again.

@Plo-K00n Sadly, that appears to be the case. I noticed that since people revealed he had or has child pornography (CP) in his computer folders, it raises the question: who's to say he didn't outright delete it and trash his old PC for a new one? I recall when John K. was exposed in the Buzzfeed news article about him. Robin Byrd did accompany the staff to the police. However, by the time they acted, any evidence of his child pornography was either gone or missing, and the statute of limitations had expired. So, while I can't deny he could be grooming children online, it's also possible he wised up and deleted any incriminating evidence from his folders and PC. It's not impossible he could repeat the same mistakes, but he now has newer friends who protect him and access to technology that can delete messages on Discord DMs. How many victims haven't come forward if he can simply erase incriminating messages? It's sad to consider that even though he's a wealthy man-child, he's not stupid enough to get caught again. Therefore, it would likely be a case of conflicting testimonies. Well, at least I hope someone creates an updated exposé. They just need to ensure that any outdated information is corrected, such as the fact that he's moved from his old house. As for Liz, I do feel bad for her, but she needs to address her own issues first. My only concern is that he'll likely die a hero to some of his newer fans, who will see threads like this and perceive us as bullying him.
