A few reasons why
1-they been told they get “billions” a month
2-they were told Ukraine is “liberal”/communist (please, ignore Russia being apart of the USSR and still hold positive views about it)
3-republican lawmakers/Right leaning “influencers” told them it’s bad
4-they like Putin since he’s friends with trump
5-they were told the war is “worthless” and “peace” can only be achieved though Putin winning the war
6-they were told this was will cause world war 3 (ignore Israel and trump pushing for WW3)

These people believe anything they are told. They’re okay with war. Hell, they cums to the idea of people dying. However, they don’t want their tax money going to the EVIL LIBERAL COMMUNISTS; that money should go to Israel. Just following up on this to say I think you guys will turn out to be right. I knew Trump's second term would.be a disappointment but I didn't think it would fall flat so hard and so fast. Even my tiny bit of hope for him has been whittled down to an ember. Still hoping for deportations and better food but I'm very pessimistic about both. Pic absolutely related.Gmq3EVvacAA0lT3.jpeg

Relying on the desperate foreign people to pick food has never been a sustainable model and I don't know why lefties trot out this one like some gotcha. Ultimately we either need to make this model financially viable for ordinary Americans to do for a living or we need to begin aggressive automation or we simply need to stop eating certain things.

There is not some magical endless fount of Latin Americans anymore. Birth rates tanked in Mexico and Central America in the 2000s and the people in those places are increasingly inclined to stay where they are. Even without Trump, the number of people coming here to pick tomatoes is on a steep secular decline and we need to stop acting like we can kick this can down the road indefinitely.

I warned my Trump-supporting "friends" about this during his first term. There is no fucking way "real Americans" are going to do farm labor.
And if/when he takes away their welfare benefits, there will just be more homeless wandering the streets. I hope it doesn't come to that.

Farming is not exactly an incredibly profitable or flexible business. Equipment costs and hiring people at legal prices might kill some agricultural producers. There's only so much welfare that the feds can pump into farmers before they give out. It's not a matter of if Americans can take over jobs from illegal aliens, but whether the employers can survive that shift. Personally, I don't think so.

Edit: To make my position clear, I don't care about impacts on food prices in the context of deportations. I am more interested in seeing whether the US agricultural sector can be pushed to crash.
