I'm newer here, and I don't hate you, or this site, and I wasn't here for the bs that happened before here in these threads. I actually quite like it here because it feels like early 2000s internet. But you do hold some at least subconscious malicious intent towards this particular forum that comes through in how you reference it which does obviously trigger some people here.

For the record, considering the type of site this is, it's actually pretty damn civil in here.

Real Talk though god damn does Phil wage quit a lot of games now, I remember just a few years ago one of the things he prided himself on was that he was basically drag himself kicking and screaming across some sort of finish line for a lot of his playthroughs.

Is this pignosis? Did Phil get me with it or did I do it to myself? Not saying he never wagequit games before, but I feel like it’s ramped up to pretty insane numbers in the last like two years.

No, it's not. Phil is ignoring dialog. Has no idea what's going on. Is not pressing any kind of investigation and doing his Stardew Valley thing of wandering around hoping to find something to do. He fucking hasn't even started the process of getting the body out of the tree and barely investigated around it, much less gotten his shit out of the dumpster. He's so scared to do any kind of skill check that he's accomplished next to nothing but piss off people when he has done a skill check (Running from the manager, lying to Kim). Not to mention the constantly whining about race and political talk WHICH IS CORE TO THE GAME.

But this was the usual thing of
1)Phil still has a bit of post-drama support from the heat
2)New game
3)New game that is a beloved game.

So he'll probably hit a few goals with it, despite being awful and not giving two shits about it.

Fun fact: you can actually finish the game without putting down and checking the hanged body. The game is amazing when it comes to freedom and ways to progress. So he might in fact finish it accidentally if he gets lucky.

• Complaining about the temperature
• A middle manager segment about either going to get tacos or red robin
• Another middle manager segment about his birthday marathon (spoiler it'll be minecraft, mcdonalds and drinking)

And he'll wagequit minecraft.

Also implying Phil is an employer and the dents are employees is an insult to even zero empathy megacorps given his entire "job" involves forcing his dents to give him money.

He's wage quitting Assassin's Creed: Japanese Lady Edition. He says it's the worst Assassin's Creed game and nobody is having fun, going on a different rant every 5 minutes about how shit the game is. He looks like he's being held at gunpoint.

And he looks even worse than some of the games he has wagequitted as well. I saw lots of YT comments thinking that it was faked for attention (or he's not getting any income from the stream) but there is no way this shit is faked. He clearly hates it more than he did with Metaphor or Stellar blade, I do not see him sleeping on stream before this (or the other unrecorded Yakuza stream mentioned).

Either that or the Kino Casino arc had driven him so insane subconsciously that he can no longer play a game at all, as much as he did not want to admit it.

It 100% has ramped up, even before current year. Back in the camera days they were mostly ragequits, then in the live streaming direct capture era the wagequits started to pop up a bit more frequently like how he dropped Disgaea 5 after it got no views but powered through 4 on the shitty camera, and ever since the pandemic or so the wagequits further ramped up in intensity.

You gotta consider how his content changed over the years. Yes, the pig never changes, but his content sure did. Back then he was the same inept asshole, but he did upload videos of gameplay. But now? Most of his time is spent on the pre-stream talking about the pre-stream. The last one, the future ones, what needs to be done for him to make as much money as possible. The business meeting jokes are spot on - he talks more about making money than anything else. This is what he seems to enjoy the most nowadays. Not just begging but also structuring everything in a way to give him the most money possible. My guess is that after discovering his gambling addiction other things simply don't give him much satisfaction anymore. And hitting goals is similar enough to give him some kind of rush. Of course, absolutely everything is about him, he can't even pretend to think about someone else.

I want to say it was FantasticMrSam that I first saw make this really great point that DSP's content is just about his content. The vast majority of what is said every day is just recapping the previous day, recapping the recap(daily wrap), telling you the schedule for the first of many times that day, begging, short term goals aka fast food slop ceremonies, and slightly longer term goals that are also usually fast food slop ceremonies. It's completely bizarre. His content was always shit, but in the past he did have some energy when he was playing games and he almost always finished them. Now most games don't even get touched once and even less get more then like 3 streams. This is nontent of the highest order.
