It's not that they aren't based, they are just indifferent. Japanese have been importing American culture since the end of the WW2 and they really have no filter to it whatsoever. If America goes woke Japan will follow, if America goes based Japan will follow, if America goes down, they'll be pandering to China instead. It's one downside of being export oriented economy, you lose any sense of identity.

The most egregious thing about the AC drama by far, is the fact that such a shit franchise has such a big cultural significance that every chronically online political commentator feels a need to chime in.

I am not the biggest AC expert, I've only played 3 of them: AC2, Brotherhood and Black Flag. And the fact that two of these games are always on everyone's top3 AC games is everything I need to know.

AC2 was okay, 7/10 parkour simulator where you become buddies with Da Vinci who makes you a flying machine with "fly over a giant bonfire for boost" technology. Calling it "historically inaccurate" would be an insult towards historically inaccurate games. It's literally having you fuck the history in every position possible, just like you'd fuck Da Vinci if they made that game today.

Black Flag on the other hand was absolute dogshit, one of the worst games I've ever played. That's the "good" bar for AC?

Even normies like Dunkey got famous for shitting on these games. One can only hope that Shadows is the right amount of woke to finally kill this excuse of a franchise once and for all. At the time when they are infesting Tolkien's masterpiece with their retarded politics, I'd honestly be insulted if shitty franchises like AC would be left untouched.

I think it’s because at the time AC was the first time we got a game like it. It was also because you got to explore these well crafted worlds, like Rome in brotherhood. I don’t really care for AC though because I’m not a stealth game fan.
