Mega Rad Gun Thread

I shot a .30 auto mag when I was hanging out with a gunsmith years ago. It was shit and jammed constantly, no more than 4 consecutive shots in 100 rounds. Everything was very visibly cast metal and rough, overall really lame. You know what they say about meeting your heroes....
That said, I shot a deagle :semperfidelis: and it was sick. Gun felt great and looked really good. Idk if it was cast or what but it least they weren't jewing you outta some extra sandpaper
I mean, as far as meme cannons go, the Desert Eagle is probably the most reliable of the bunch, imho.

Local shop had a Coonan .357 in the case that I almost bought, but I think I got distracted by something else so I passed on it.

The Coonans were actually pretty decent, reliable pistols. Especially the later model ones. Unfortunately, like most companies who make semi-auto magnums, they always had trouble staying in business and were never able to get big enough to keep going. This last attempt was the closest they ever got to staying successful, even offering different models, barrel lengths, and finishes, but they weren't able to keep it going. Out of all the semi-auto magnums, the Coonan was probably the most practical being in .357 Magnum and not being a massive slab of metal. They aren't much larger than a normal 1911.

I think I wound up with a 2007 manufacture Colt Delta Elite instead, which is hands down the worst gun purchase I've ever made, especially in light of the Dan Wesson Razorback 10 that I also passed on right next to it.

Fuck, that was dumb...

Wearing a brace of fucking YC9s on a sash like you're a modern-day age of sail buccaneer is definitely a vibe I can get behind.
Or go Derringer Meryl style.

Picked up an almost unfired Glock 21 Gen 5 MOS only to be reminded how much I hate Safariland and their refusal to make holsters for anything not Glock 19 and P320.
The issue seems to be it's the MOS version. That does suck. They also don't make optics ready holsters for a bunch of guns upon looking. Seems like Dara makes them

Yeah, that's definitely not a good vintage for Colt guns. Any Colt guns. I love my Dan Wesson Specialist. They had a 10mm that was very similar to the Specialist, but had a "battle worn" bronze Ceracoat finish that I almost got, but decided to go with tried and true .45 ACP as John Moses Browning intended.

I got to handle a mid 90's ( I think) Colt Anaconda .44 and it was so bad. the finish was uneven and when i dry fired it i could feel the grit and metal shavings left in side the action.

the best part is they wanted 2k for that trash. The new Pythons might have not effect the price of the 1st gen Pythons but I will ABSOLUTELY NEVER, EVER buy a 1st gen Anaconda. 2nd gen all the way.

Did you ever get one of these or another 10mm 1911?
No.
Still have the DE, which went back to Colt twice. Once for a new barrel and slide because it would bulge the cases of blazer 10mm, and once again because they managed to wrap the gun up for shipping, DROP IT, and then sent it back to my gun shop, which I then unboxed at the shop to discover that they had broken the rear sight blade right off the gun (this was when the DE first came out again and had the standard 1911 sights).

I got it back after they replaced them with a free set of Trijicons, I ran a few mags through it, found it would still bulge the cases of real 10mm loads, and put it back into the case... about a decade ago. I only pull it out of the box to wipe it down and put it back.

Like, what in the actual fuck is goin' on here? Not very confidence inspiring. Around 500 rounds on the pistol, if that.

looks like the fit is so tight that the machining marks from the lever are imprinting themselves into the frame. Don't know if it would be a safety concern but it sure is ugly.

After giving it all those nice beretta upgrades everyone likes. Can finally say it shoots like a dream. Just need some grips to come in an I can call this a samurai edge good enough for resident evil.

Get the new tlr7HLX it'll double your lights power to 1000 lumens and 22k candela, but does cut the run time to 30 minutes. With the 500 lumen mode on it you'll get 1.5 hours still, but doubles your candela to 11k.

so i got a problem frens:

I have had this EC9 in FDE (stock pic, but its the same SKU) for a few years. and actually quite like it for pocket carry. After a few k 9mm i can just about point shoot it accurately out to 10 yards. unfortunately a while ago i was shooting it and once the slide locked back after expending the mag i tripped on a stump as a was walking back to my range table and fell. I dropped the gun so i could catch myself and now it is locked open.

and i mean L O C K E D. I've done everything i can think of to unlock the slide. it won't budge at all. no slide release on this gun and pulling the slide back to close it like you're supposed do doesn't work. granted, its probably had way more rounds down the pipe than Ruger ever though anyone would put through it so it may well be worn out but i have never seen this happen before.

your thoughts?
