Warhammer 40k

I heard it has some absurdly high win rate. 80%+? So yeah it's getting the banhammer until they can get the extra large nerf bat out.
I do wonder if the numbers are actually that true, like the general buffs that detachement gives is insane, but I doubt it's a real 80%+ win rate.

Another source would be the Hachette magazines.
I collected those for a while. Problem was finding them was inconsistent, and in some cases expensive. £10 for 5 marines isn't bad. £10 for two useless paints, not a good deal. I think the consistency issues was in part due to people buying (or not buying) specific issues. People snapping up all the good deals as soon as they were spotted, or skipping bad issues (like the paints one) and newsagents not stocking it.

I just got around to building Infernos marines from it yesterday. I have opinions on them, but I'll spare the thread.

Sure, but if you're in the UK you can just preorder/buy them online and get the specific ones you want(as they come out) rather than trying to hunt them down in person https://forbiddenplanet.com/catalog/?q=combat patrol

Best game i ever had was a rorkes drift scenario we dreamt up where a small RT era space marine army fought a vastly larger WFB 3rd edition Ork horde. The complete compatibility of the rulesets allowed you some crazy shit, like space marines riding on catachan devils fighting a fantasy Chaos Legion from the Realm of Chaos books.

The Realm of Chaos books are absolute kino. Sadly I'm old enough to have picked them up the first time around. The fluff and presentation was top notch, but the ability to bring stuff into RT from WHFB and vice versa was amazing. Got a chaos space marine and want to give him a fancy possessed sword? Just roll for it. There was a good chunk of content in those two books that was lifted straight from White Dwarf, but they were still phenomenal, especially when you compare them to the shite they churn out today. The only thing that has come even remotely close in terms of content have been the original 30K campaign books.

Best fun I ever had with a self-contained 40k box/game was “Realm of Chaos: Wrath and Rapture” Khorne daemons vs Slaanesh daemons.

The fun part was the included booklets included knowing how versatile the box was, how it could be a single, whole army, in both AoS and 40k. So it dived into the background of the warp and the Great Game.

Daemon name generators, lore reasons for the two sides fighting as one (breach in reality and it being a mad-dash to harvest mortals was my favorite) and fluff for allied armies.

I kept that booklet long after I sold the models, so much soul.

Ive been very tempted to buy an old eldar combat patrol whilst I still can and put it away for a future project.

But i spotted some Imperial Fists on that roadmap and boys, we gonna fist.

Couldn't help but notice not one, but four black Space Wolves in the new primaris reveals.

I mean, it doesn't really matter, I suppose, you can paint them whatever skintone you like, but still, someone at Games Workshop had the idea to paint the Scandinavian Viking-inspired faction in distinctly melanated, distinctly atypically Scandinavian skintones, and I think we can all probably surmise exactly why that decision was made.

Because of course it was.

Culture war shit is retarded and gay you turbofag.

the new knee pads look interesting. I dont really like the non-jointed ones as much, its like theyre trying to harkon back to the first born, but theyre so chunky they just look weird. The jointed knee pads with no upper crest look pretty good, and I hope we get some generic SM units that has those.

>chaos gets 3 new models
>space wolves get an entire fucking range refresh
>chaos demons might not even exist by 11th
What is this gay shit. Why did they even show off the Death Guard model when its already been revealed? Why the fuck do Tsons, the MAGIC faction, get ROBOTS? Why is the new WE model another fucking 8bound? GW marketers are COOKED on that fent.

sheesh, looks like world eaters are getting the tsons treatment where you just get to be half a codex forever

one single single model release

suppose they could hope for some aos refugees like the tzaangor XD

Yeah, OK, perhaps, but why are they black, though? 🤔

I don't want to sound like Arch Warhammer sperging out over that black Ultramarine, but it stood out to me like a sore thumb that that sergeant was a black woman. Not in a "THE WEST HAS FALLEN" type way, but in a "Well, of course she is," type way. 🙄

Even though she has no lines and her role is basically to get fried by vespids, of course, she had to be black and female. Because of course she did.

There was Sister of Battle character recently who was also a sheboon. It just feels inorganic, forced and cynical. I noticed it, rather than it just being an organic part of the character.

They're black because of course they are. 🙄

Why the fuck do Tsons, the MAGIC faction, get ROBOTS?

because they have robots in 30k

the real question is why the fuck are they only getting robots, that codex has like 3 actual kits

1) rubrics
2) scarab occult
3) enlightened sorcs

and then aos refugees and characters.

I just want to know why the robots are so fucking thin, they look like battletech or gundam or something.
Battletech is currently trying to cash in on the popularity SEO of Trench Crusade. But it could be deliberate if they see Gundam (and the popularity of Gunpla) as a threat? I've not seen them and don't know how long they've been in production so that's a stretch.
