In today’s world, it feels like there’s always a trend of the week or month that others tend to follow, especially with the rise of social media platforms like Tiktok/Instagram/Etc. It’s exhausting to watch as these trends dominate, and it can be downright frustrating to see how little individuality or personality some people have when their lives are shaped by the opinions of someone behind a screen. The constant pressure to conform to these short-lived trends leaves little room for authentic self-expression, or personal individuality despite those who follow them claiming otherwise and it’s frustrating to witness people lose their sense of identity in the pursuit of validation online.
This thread is here for us to come together and share the trends that we personally find the most irksome, no matter how big or small. If it irritates you, it belongs here. This is for us to collectively vent and discuss those things that get under our skin, whether they’re current fads or timeless annoyances.

A trend I despise is the erasure of female romanticism, especially in fantasy literature. I am completely and utterly fine with having strong female leads, or female characters in general. However, it feels like every new fantasy book has the same female protagonist trope and plotline no matter the circumstances. They always need to be a strong, capable warriors and never get to have any traditionally feminine traits like in traditional fairy tales. It generally makes reading new fantasy tough and feels like Hercules's twelve labors to get through. This doesn't even tap into the rise of sexual content in these books either.

The trend of ladies using terms like "girl math" and "I'm just a girl", they're dumbing themselves down massively. Calling really shit meals "girl dinner".

Looksmaxxing terms like "siren, bunny, deer". Where do they come up with this shit honestly.

I am sick of society trying to force/guilt/shame me and other white women into giving a shit about non-whites and faggots.
Crying brown children? Don't care.
Faggots are upset about something? Excellent.

The pressure being put on white women to care more about niglets and disease ridden homos than their own tribe is abhorrent. We constantly get blamed if something happens to jiggaboos and poofters too.

Why the fuck should I put my safety and comfort at risk for these wretched things?
It's always women being forced to accommodate or accept poor behaviour because "dats raycist" or "mean" if we don't.
Fine, I'm a mean racist bitch then.
I don't care.
Get the fuck out of my country.

After watching those crying brown kids grow into teens that destroy my society (and other countries around the world), I feel nothing but contempt when the media et all try to redirect my caring nature and kindness towards creatures who do not care about me, my family, my nation, or people who look like me.

Same with faggotry.
Every time I see some disgusting rectal raider gleefully beaming into the camera with his purchased child he stole from its mother, I feel rage.

Anything that expects me to start hating all men in the west. IE man vs bear and testing/breaking up with your bf over the Barbie movie. This does not apply to Islamic men, I’m not going near like 90% of them.
Other than that, I’m also tired of how it feels like basically every other female character has to be a girlboss who scoffs at the thought of wearing a dress.

Fake Witchcraft and a lot of that mean spirited "femcel" nonsense that a lot of pickmes use. It's so forced and not cool.

Also how writers can't write female characters. It has to be a fucking one dimensional meat slab "cool girl" with no flaws as if that somehow makes it relatable to women. No, I think women deserve multifaceted and well written female characters for better representation or relatability. Those soulless market analysts who study demographics deserve to be shot in the head for failing their jobs.
Like... WHOOO THE FUUUUCKKKK ARREEEEE YOOUUUUUU

Not even black women I know would relate at all to this fucking slaughtering of a character. This was her in the comic.

Stop making (fictional) women into these San Francisco tier faggots... it makes them so unrelatable. Writers (Faggots) should stop writing women. Retarded faggot artists should stop drawing women. Point blank. Might solve a lot of issues.

The trend of getting rid of your “cortisol face”, or flattening your tummy with castor oil, or face taping. No one can age gracefully anymore, it’s all just snake oil sales(wo)men selling supplements.
For real though they don't understand what it meant to have issues with cortisol. Only women with PCOS and the rare adrenal cancer patient need to worry about cortisol levels.

Getting work done (particularly facial work) being hyper normalized. I feel insane witnessing it come this far in popularity and i think it can be at least partially attributed to troonism making superfluous and dangerous surgeries seem more acceptable*
The sentiment from most women now seems to be "as long as you don't lie about getting it, it's fine to do it" under the belief that lying about it leads women and girls to believe they're inherently less-than for how they look, which is a fair analysis. but honestly therein lies another issue of normalizing it and basically openly advertising "easy" , "efficient" and "non-invasive" methods to alter ones face as if it weren't a big deal at all

*Not that they're exactly comparable given that cosmetic surgery for females has real baggage that more or less justifies(?) its existence that i don't care to get into rn because i'm assuming we all know. mtfs just get work done for sexual pleasure etc etc, and I'm not even gonna bother getting into motive for ftms. but the overall theme of making surgery seem like it's not a big deal at all is somewhat connected and both "sex reassignment" and cosmetic surgeons profit off of this mindset. I am not intelligent enough to get into the nuance of this

I seen somebody mentioned already the popular trend of self-imposed infantilization of women with "I'm just a girl".
But I really hate "the pink job and blue job" trend.

Like have some self-respect goddamn.

I also hate any attempts at trying to rebrand certain aesthetics that
have pornographic roots as "empowering" like with the whole
"bimbocore" thing.

Everything about trannies (which falls into faggotry I guess). It's so astroturfed and narcissistic its almost unavoidable to find online. They also end up being responsible for a lot of retarded and awful fashion trends. They deserve to go extinct. Forever. Bye bye.
Search for anything makeup related on Google images and you'll find troons/poons/freaks in the first couple hits. Nobody can tell me it's not on purpose.

Trend I hate: Youtubers acting like we're besties. I just want to see what that makeup would look like on my skin tone or interested in the quality of clothes before ordering them. I don't need their life stories heard or what they did last Friday. Just review the goddamn makeup then end the video, thanks.
