Although, the amount of chaos Trump has caused in his second term, has led even to some of the irreverent cynics to feel excited. There was one post I screenshotted because it had left me that much of a real lasting impression.

The OP here doesn't deny at all that Trump is a zog bootlicker, hell, he doesn't even like him, as cynical take you can get on American politics. But he's enthusiastic, because actual change has become possible, even if it's the zog bootlicking elite throwing a bone out of calculated pragmatic compromise to stay in power.

Although, this post may derail from the thread a little, as it's ultimately about "Trump Enslavement Syndrome", not "voting for lesser of two evils" syndrome, but I still think this stuff may provide to be insightful into the psychology of the Trump voter for certain people here.

A lot of them also only care about triggering liberals or punishing brown/gay/etc people. They'd happily cut their own hand off if it meant a brown person would lose their whole arm

I'm not so naive to believe that it's going to be any one thing that sinks support for Trump 2. I think individual incidents are going to shave off more and more people based on ideological proximity.

I think Trump was expecting a lot of what happened in his first term to happen again - competent people moving behind the scenes to bail him out from the worst fuck-ups. But that's not happening this time. The Democrats are content to let the Trump admin do what they want and pick up the pieces that fall out. And Elon's moved so fast that I don't think Trump has really realized that there are no longer informed people under him to keep him from stepping on a landmine.

It might not be a bad idea for the Democrats to just let Trump do what he's gonna do. They can't stop him anyway since they no congressional power. Might as well give him zero reason to be able to blame them to any reasonable person

Zero reason or not, he'll continue to blame Bi-DEN and Barak HUSSEIN Obama for as long as he's in office. The dumbest of his sheeple will always believe him. Reasonable people are already bowing out. The only hope we have is for Dems to take over vacant seats in Congress.

I personally think nothing can move the true-believers, which are maybe around anywhere between a third to half of Trump's voter base. Trump still relies on complacent voters who do not really follow the news cycle and vaguely thought Trump would be better for the economy and get rid of immigrants or whatever. Ideology really does not play into it that much for those people. Once it starts affecting those people's bottom lines is when their vote will switch—in some instances it already had.

Nothing really happens and then a month or two from now Hegseth and Waltz are mysteriously gone from Trump's cabinet because their fuck-up was bad enough to put them under scrutiny. Trump is probably going to privately push for them to get their shit together, Hegseth is going to spaz out because he's a manchild, and then they'll be gone.
