What's more confusing to me is that she has said a lot of fandom wants "dark and mature" adventure fantasy shows, because they're insecure about their own tastes. She couples this by saying "I've seen and wrote things that are way more twisted and fucked up than X", citing things like Don't Move (which apparently wasn't too intense for her lol) but this little girl show with mild arguing and hitting is too much. I don't know it kind of just sounds like she wants to seem more like a victim, it has nothing really to do with the show.

Part of the Avatar's obligation is to NOT abuse that power. It's basic Spider-man stuff; great power, great responsibility. There's a lot of power to be respected in that restraint, too, but Lily almost always writes power through fear. When Aliana takes over the galaxy it's through the threat of death that she rules. Her Avatar wields her power to threaten and murder her enemies. Her Val'kyr are cosmic space angel zombies whose ruler, Lord Ryder, mutilates his subordinates when they get out of line. Even in her more 'grounded' stories there's always the threat of the law being wielded against people her characters don't like. For Lily, violence and fear are power.

A common trend in works created by Lily Orchard is to stratal the line between a lesbian couple and two sisters:

• In one chapter of The Sith Resurgence, Aliana is shown fantasizing with her girlfriend Rey about how cute it would’ve been if they had grown up as siblings be it adopted or biological, with Rey showing no discomfort with the idea of being related whilst being in a relationship.
• Lilys Poke Mad House: In this comic series Lily’s Gardevoir, G, has had a crush on Lily since they were kids, which causes much conflict when Lily begins dating other women with G acting a Clingy Jealous Girl on occasion. While Lily rejects G when she confesses, with Lily claiming that she only views G as a sister, there are lots of implications Lily reciprocates G’s feelings and only rejects her because of fears of what it would do to her career. This can be seen with Lily proudly showing a bite mark from Gardivor after it was said the species do that to show affection, Lily having kissed G on the lips on one occasion, the two being rather touchy-feely with one another. The two are even raising a Half-Human Hybrid of Ralts that contains Lily’s DNA named Bonnie, with Bonnie referring to both women as "mommy". Despite the clear Unresolved Sexual Tension between the two characters, one of the last comic strips before the series' indefinite hiatus had the two decide that "sisters" is the label that suits their relationship the best, with this mixed messaging getting lampshaded by a follow-up strip of their child Bonnie hiding "in-bread".
• Lily Ochard’s Avatar OC, Niva, is a nihilist who doesn’t care about the world or her duties as Avatar, only having any love for her sister, Lavi. The two often act far more affectionate and touchy-feely than any normal pair of siblings, cuddling excessively, laying on one another, and kissing each other on the cheek repeatedly. Both sisters also act as a Living Emotional Crutch for one another, Navi notably has deep fears of being without her sister for long periods and refuses to allow herself to get close to others, something Niva feels the same about, as Lily has mentioned in a Tumblr post that Lavi has abandoned five long-term partners to continue traveling with Niva. In-universe tabloids have even speculated if there is a more intimate relationship between the two sisters.

While trawling through Sorfabuna's archive, Tuna spotted comments by Sorfabuna on a (now deleted) r/advice post, titled "I just found out the truth about my eldest daughter and now I'm realizing how horribly I treated her"

and while the original post may be inaccessible to this humble bear(s), it's easy to figure out the context from the remaining thread: u/ThrowawayDadWoes is the father of two girls (and stepfather to one boy, who was put into provincial custody at 12), and has recently found out that when the girls were 13 and 14 respectively, the younger sister (referred to as "Chloe") had been blackmailing and sexually abusing the older, transgender sister (referred to as "Casey").

Does this sound familiar to you.

It appears that Lily, posing as her own father, cooked up the draft version of her "Courtney raped me" story as a piece of reddit fiction, before refining the details for her audience (and commenting on said story under her own sockpuppet. How heartwarming). But how can we be sure that Lily's father didn't write the original post?

Because the post is dated May 8, 2024, and Lily didn't tell her father her side of the story until May 20, 2024. By her own admission:

I'm a 58M and I have three children. A 36 stepson (Charles) a 31 trans daughter (Casey) and a 30 daughter (Chloe).
Names changed obviously.
As a child, Casey was always extremely difficult. Combative, violent, didn't like anyone making decisions for her, and she was convinced the adults in her life were out to get her. She also lied constantly and hid everything from me. We took her to therapists her entire life and she was given every diagnosis under the sun, even Conduct Disorder.
We had her removed from the house on several occasions, and whenever it seemed like she was doing better, she would regress when brought back home. By the time she was 16, she hated me and she let me know it. Everything was a battle with her that devolved into screaming matches and sometimes fist fights. Her grades were terrible and she barely scraped through high school and couldn't hold down a job. We eventually kicked Casey out when she was 20.
Chloe was always the well behaved one who we didn't need to intervene with as much, got good grades, and had a lot of friends. We were proud of her, especially with how volatile her brothers were.
We were convinced that Chloe was going to make something of herself and Casey would end up arrested or dead.
We could not have been more wrong.
Casey was on welfare for a while, but eventually started her own successful business and even got married a few years ago. It was like a switch flipped once she had her own place and she's mellowed out a lot over the years. However she's very reclusive and avoids people. In the family, she only really gets along with her brother and her brother's children. Casey has been trying to rebuild a relationship with us, but it's been difficult for her and she only contacts us once every few months.
Chloe ran away with a guy when she was 17 and cut contact with us, bounced around homeless shelters, ended up doing heroin and still has the attitude of a teenage girl at 30. She hates everything and everyone, but she especially hates Casey.
We couldn't figure out why this had happened for a long time. But this year we eventually found out the truth.
Casey had been sexually abused by a teacher and her sister.
She told her mother a few weeks ago that when she was six, one of the teachers at her school who handled special needs cases like her had started touching her inappropriately. Apparently she had tried to tell someone but she wasn't believed. On top of that she had been regularly struck by her teacher in 3rd Grade.
Then Casey confided in her mother about how when she was 14, Chloe had blackmailed her into an incestuous relationship by saying if Casey didn't do everything Chloe said, she'd tell me I raped her. Apparently Casey was so terrified I would believe this that she obeyed and did everything Chloe wanted her to do and they didn't break up until after we sent Casey away to the hospital.
Suddenly everything made a lot more sense. Why she hated anyone having control over her, why she has such a problem with authority, why she and Chloe ended up hating each other. It also explained why things became so volatile around the time of her and Chloe's 'relationship.'
But the worst part is realizing how much I didn't just let all of this happen, but I helped it happen. I never believed Casey when she said her teachers had it out for her. I often took the word of people who said Casey was the problem instead. He'l she was a bed wetter until she went away to the hospital at 15, and after looking it up I was told this was a red flag for sexual abuse.
For a while I thought Casey was harbouring incestuous attraction toward Chloe because I found Google searches for incest in the browser history after she used the computer. Turns out she was looking for help and didn't know where to look.
I was so ready and eager to see her as the problem that Chloe used that to abuse her.
Even worse, I said so many nasty things to her and made her feel like garbage. I talked down to her, insulted her, and lashed out at her for her behavior. No wonder she didn't think she could tell me. My daughter was being hurt by everyone right under my nose and I just let it happen.
And even after all of that, she still tries to have a relationship with me and her mother. She still loves her brother, and she's even said that she misses Chloe and hopes she's okay. She's apparently been in therapy since we kicked her out, and it's been doing wonders for her. Apparently therapy as a child didn't work because we were all fixated on her behavior and not why she was behaving this way.
I can't cope with the fact that I had a hand in hurting my daughter so severely and in ways she's going to be dealing with for the rest of her life. I feel like I should apologize to her, but that feels like too little too late.
Is it meaningless to apologize after all of that?
