With how conservative actual urinary surgeons are, how is this possibly humane or legal? Help me understand why the fuck it's necessary to prove someone is fit to stand trial, but it's not necessary to prove that someone is mentally sound enough or smart enough to understand the potential ramifications of an IRREVERSIBLE, MAJOR SURGERY??

Which, fucking of course they're extremely hesitant to operate on such a delicate part of the body. That's a pretty fucking good sign that your doctor is probably a good doctor, if they're asking for you to change certain behaviors or use less intense, risky methods of treatment, such as losing weight, before even considering putting you on an operating table. If you really think surgeons can just make any kind of magic happen like it's a fucking character creation screen, then you're terminally retarded. I don’t know why I ever come in here, it’s such a house of horrors. I actually felt like throwing up when I opened up that video of a flayed arm to the tune of Born This Way. And all surgeries come with risks. ALL SURGERIES. Even routine ones like getting your wisdom teeth removed, that happen every day to thousands of people. I can’t imagine going under the knife for any elective surgery, even a minor one like a nose job or something, much less one as invasive as a phalloplasty or vaginoplasty.
