The problem is that most of the big sports have too many fucking rules. I understand the NFL wanting to prevent head injuries and stuff, but it's to the point now that some quarterbacks act like queens. The NBA has been caught fixing games and doing points shaving to the point that the legitimacy of the games is questionable. All you're left with is baseball, which no one cares about anymore, and hockey, which is really only popular if you're in a state with a good team.

It's a shame that soccer, rugby, and tennis are all considered too faggy by the American public to be popular.

My family was very poor. I survived off $1 banquet frozen dinners and top ramen for the majority of my childhood and teen years. McDonald’s was considered a high-end treat, and a real restaurant was only visited for a birthday.

But here’s the parental but. I lived with grandmother who had two jobs, one a book keeper at a CVS, and one a vendor for a company that distributed greeting cards, plastic sunglasses, cheap jewelry, and occasionally DVDs and VHS tapes. After school every day I would walk home then she’s drive me around town to several drug stores and grocery stores where I would spend hours putting out product and fixing the displays, which were always destroyed by the customers. I guarantee every person here has seen the types of displays I worked on. Greeting cards were the worst because it was entire pharmacy greeting card aisles.
I would do this, to company spec, for several stores a day, every day a week close 6 or 7 hours a day and then still have to take care of my homework. From 7-13 I was told my payment was literally that I got to eat dinner that night. If I refused, I got no dinner.
When I turned 13 I started getting $5 an hour, and when I was 16, I got $8 an hour. When I could finally quit and never do it again at 18, I did.

My grandma has a simple scheme. She could get stores done much faster by forcing me to work with her, and then she would charge the company extra by saying she worked twice the amount of time we actually did. She of course always made a lot more than I did. I was never allowed to refuse to work.
