100%. I understand why people don't like Karl, he's said and done some pretty fucking cringey shit; but he's still a good guy at the end of the day. Billy Mitchell is an absolute scumbag and he has no case. He's going to get absolutely destroyed, I would bet every last dollar I have. Also, Karl, unlike Mitchell, has actually shown some self-awareness, and his videos are very entertaining and informative; especially his videos on Billy himself.
Like him or not, he deserves to win. He is in the right. It will be a great injustice if he loses.

You're forgetting this case is taking place on the currently completely cucked Convict Island. I still at least hope he's going to lose but Commonwealth defamation law is completely insane. That's why the U.S. has passed a law forbidding these libel tourism countries like Australia and the UK and Canada from collecting on defamation verdicts.

I think it's basically a toss up. It's important to remind everyone that regardless of either outcome, Billy 100% cheated. Whether his scores were legit wasn't what was on trial, rather it was whether Karl defamed Billy with his commentary of the situation between Billy and Apollo Legend. Libel/slander laws in the UK and Australia have extremely low bars so the judge could rule against Karl.
If Karl does win then he'll at least have a couple years worth of videos as he tries to get Billy to pay up since he's gonna have to localize the judgement to Florida and Billy would definitely fight it every step of the way.

- Karl wins, Billy has to pay him $500K AUD
- Karl wins, Billy pays nothing/minimal amount
- Billy wins, Karl is destitute
- Billy wins, Karl pays nothing/minimal amount

I'm going with number 2. I think Karl has at least the moral right to win, but I doubt he's going to get a big dollar judgement against Billy, who wouldn't pay it anyway. Can't wait to hear the verdict tho!

Karl's been indicating in every video that he can get Billy to pay his legal fees, which are in excess of $500K AUD at this point, if he wins. Obviously he's a bit biased, but on the other side I believe Billy Mitchell was suing Karl for at least a couple hundred grand, which is why during the lawsuit he brought up the alleged amounts he was supposed to be paid to attend conventions.
I have doubts about those numbers, especially since Billy indicated conventions paying him tens of thousands of dollars which is fucking ludicrous for retro gaming conventions, but I assume if Billy wins then Karl will have to at least pay Billy's costs along with at least some of the monetary reward that Billy requested.

Could the judge rule that both claims have some merit and therefore, rule that damages shouldn't be granted in excess ? For example, Karl wins because Billy couldn't prove his case as requested but contextually damages arent reasonable ?

I think it will be 4. Even if its like thirty thousand dollars or whatever, Karl has made more than that off of his Billy interactions. Absolutely bullshit btw but if Kiwifarms has taught me anything, its that the wrong-doer comes out ahead in a lawsuit 90 percent of the time.

Logic would state Karl will win, actual law would state Karl will win, the kangaroo courts and retarded judges here in the states though? Billy's probably gonna win and Karl's gonna be told he's a big meanie and owes billy a gazillion dollareedoos. I really would love to see Billy smacked down, all records removed, content taken offline because it's all a lie, held in contempt, and Karl getting to smash all of his electronics in front of him for good measure and everyone's entertainment. But Billy is a better dressed Greer, with more teeth, I get the feeling if the outcome isn't in his favor, the court will give him an opportunity to overturn it or manage to make it so Billy can come back at Karl for damages.

You're right, I'm retarded, and a jew. That almost makes it worse though because aren't Aussie courts more fucked up than US ones? I know they've got some crazy laws. Maybe we can get an outcome where if Billy can successfully wrestle a crocodile while also having redback spiders crawling in his pants that Karl loses. I'd pay to watch it.

I guess he could go schizo at a convention about it but it's not like he's gonna sperg out on twitter about it. He's a boomer who couldn't even figure out how Twitch worked and had to have his son set it up for him.
Last time I remember him tweeting was when the Twin Galaxies lawsuit settled and they put up an archive of his scores that he tried to portray as his scores being reinstated. It got community noted to explain that his scores were in fact not reinstated and and he said nothing else about it.
Conversely, I'm not sure I could stand whatever extremely cringe and smug video he's probably already got planned in the event that he wins.
