Although I do, in fact, now remember Ratman.  Portal came out a year or two after Zoey was born, based on her age (depending on whether she was born in '05 or very early in '06), but she's just old enough to have had Portal 2 as a part of her childhood. I never got really into either, but they were fun, and I can imagine an Autistic kid getting pretty obsessed with the second.

It's a thoroughly investigated phenomina likely because the loss of adequate sleep exacerbates the bpd symptoms, which in turn lead to less sleep. So it's a nasty spiral.

Considering how many issues it can cause with mood lability (and, frankly, with addiction; alcohol and/or downers "help" with insomnia for awhile, especially if it's tied into anxiety and night terrors), it's a pretty serious problem even if it's not part of the core symptomatology.
