Hello, you absolute legends. Typically I would include myself in that title, but today, I can make no such claim. Yes, gamers, you read the title correctly. We lost. I have been found guilty of slandering world record holder and gamer of the century Billy Mitchell, and will be going to jail if I’m lucky. This is a massive loss, not just for the speed running community, but for me, as I have massively lost this court case and will pay dearly for it. I would like to apologize, not just to you, the viewer at home, but the federal judge, who has ordered me to apologize to world record holder and gamer of the century Billy Mitchell. I am sorry for my constant slander, harassment, and lies. I apologize for any libelous claims I have spread that may have led his records to be unjustly removed. I am legally mandated to state his world records have been reinstated. He is not just the rightful holder of the first to a million points in Donkey Kong, but he is also the gamer of the century, and with that, I beg for mercy. If you are watching this video, please do not make the same mistake I did. Billy Mitchell is the real deal. If my entire channel has taught you anything, it’s hopefully that sometimes, we just get things wrong. You don’t always spot a fake run immediately, and sometimes, when you do, you tragically don’t. While I can’t say the future looks very bright, I can at the very least say Billy Mitchell will be returning to the internet very shortly, and we plan on issuing a joint statement on his channel. The scores in question are the ones he submitted during and after The King of Kong documentary, all of the VHS tapes of the games he submitted were 100% done on emulators. Whether he used saved states or not doesn't really matter since he submitted them as evidence of scores achieved on original hardware and they clearly weren't recorded from original hardware.

At this point though, even if Billy's scores were legit, he wouldn't even be in the top twenty on the leaderboard since way more people actually play the game now instead of just a bunch of boomers.

People need to develop real problems like alcoholism or gambling addiction so they have actual things to be upset about this is just pathetic.

Not strictly cheating but in some of his real runs he played on hardware that also would have disqualified his scores. Nothing major, just having a non-OEM joystick that I don't believe would have given him any advantage, but Mitchell claimed to have never played on non-OEM hardware and Jobst had a picture of him playing with a non-OEM joystick on a machine that may have had other modifications as well

I believe his scores on this machine he claimed to have performed live in front of an audience, but he did it in a backroom at a convention and then his score was announced to an audience, but these aren't the emulated scores in question, just an example of him demonstrably lying about his history with the game

(Edit: Apparently the red stick is an 8-way joystick that allows you to climb ladders while manipulating barrels whereas the standard 4-way black stick requires you to stand still to do that, so it's cheating as per the rules regarding modified hardware)

Yeah, Jobst was entirely disingenuous (or possibly retarded?) with his representation of what was going on with the case. He constantly reiterated that the main issue was Billy's recalcitrant insistence that he was, in-fact, the King of Kong who used no emulators - stalker child. Him getting butt-fucked-to-death on who killed Apollo Legend feels super out of left field because of that. I hope Karly pays a price in support for his brazen lies about what the case was even about.
