Depends on what he actually owns. If he owns a house, (and we're going to assume in this case Australia handles it similarly to the United States/Canada) it may be preferable to just arrange a payment plan with Billy's lawyer over the course of how many years than it is to outright lose the house. It's entirely up to Billy how he wants to handle getting paid here. If he chooses to be uncharacteristically generous and magnanimous by simply arranging a drip feed payment plan outside of court with Jobst, he can buy back most of the good will he pissed away with his cheating scandals. If he chooses to force Jobst to sell his equity to pay for costs, he's going to tear apart this guy's life. Billy will never recover from how hated he will be. He's going to piss away whatever business opportunities for the rest of his life.
Almost no governments will take away your primary residence or the tools (such as a car) necessary for you to work over debt.

He's literally at zero risk of losing his house. Ever.

How do you think DSP has survived this long?

Billy Mitchell had multiple records for multiple games in the 1980s, years before emulation.
Even the troons can't sperg those records away.
They just got brainwashed by a Jew movie into thinking they could vicariously destroy the Orange Man by endlessly repeating that "EMULATION IS CHEATING!"
>Emulation is cheating!!
>u-unless we're speedtrooooning...

Angloids owned in favor of justice.

No, but playing on an emulator, which requires a higher standard of documentation and proof, and then submitting your scores as cabinet scores to bypass that higher standard IS against the rules.
"Sorry, we're taking you off the leaderboard, we just found out you got those scores with a gameshark plugged in."
"This is outrageous! You can't even prove that the gameshark had any codes inputted into it!"
"Sure, but the fact you set this record with a gameshark plugged in, lied about it being plugged in, and told us that you have never owned or used a gameshark in your life doesn't paint your intentions in the best of light."
You do know that Billy scores were literally proven to be impossible to be achieved by a human right?
I think you're getting Billy confused with Todd Rogers.

Speedrunner losers should be the last people to accuse anyone of cheating since their autistic hobby involves all sorts of glitches & exploits that most would consider actual cheating.

To find out load up any competitive multiplayer game, then glitch out of bounds so you can’t be hit. Let me know how long it takes for you get kicked or banned.

I hate speedrunners.

Just watched the judgment of this case, but they're making him pay attorney's costs to the plaintiff? Is Australia really so cucked as a country that they punish you for defending yourself in court? How retarded is Jobst for taking a bet on this lawsuit: if he wins he gets a little bit of money and gets to gloat for a week on Youtube, if he loses he literally kills himself because the court orders him to pay 6 million dollars for every time Billy cried about video game scores.

This sounds like DSP complaining about losing every fighting game because of some obscure netcode frame lag or his controller didn't register his inputs.

How about instead of the problem being MAME can't play a sound effect you just suck at gaming and play bad games.
Ok, using DSP as an example, it's like playing SF2 Turbo PS1 version and insisting that it's the same thing as playing on arcade hardware.

MAME emulations vary in quality depending on the arcade system but they all have differences compared to the original hardware. The better emulation systems all use FPGA since those can be used to fully replicate the chips that were used. Some of them are almost to the point of being indistinguishable from original hardware. Like the Class of 81' Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga FPGA board that Namco put into arcade cabinets in the 2000's is considered to be identical to original hardware. Lots of arcade collectors even prefer using FPGA versions of games over original in some cases, mainly extremely temperamental games like Qix or Defender where the original board sets are prone to having issues. Plus they allow you to play multiple games in the same cabinet which is nice when the thing's the size of a refrigerator.

Apparently in Australia, when you file for bankruptcy, your trustee becomes the controlling interest in your equity. They can assess your equity to see if it's value can pay off the debt or take a significant chunk out of it and just fucking sell the thing. Car, house, whatever.
