My predictions:
  1. This movie will be a massive box office hit, mark my words (be a hater all you want tomorrow will prove I'm completely right). The advertising for this shit is crazy and stupid kids who don't know any better will probably be the ones who want to watch it the most because they are the intended demographic after all, Minecraft is literally a game for kids these days it's a fucking nursery. Kids aren't picky either, so all the ugly uncanny shitty CGI and weirdass-looking actors won't bother them nearly as much as it does for anyone else.
  2. It will be shallow and mindless like the Super Mario Bros movie and the Sonic movie.
  3. They'll put memes into the movie. (or Herobrine, he's a meme anyways)
  4. None of the shit from the movie will make it into the actual game. BTW if you saw some of the trailers there was some furniture, thing that has become a meme amongst Mojang devs.
  5. There will be elsagate content based on the movie on youtube.
I'll come back to this thread tomorrow and I bet all 5 points turn out to be true.

You're already wrong with 4 if shitty bedrock feature packs count.
I'm 50/50 on the big question. I don't think that kids are gonna like it and word is going to spread fast on the playground that it's a piece of shit. The reaction to the trailers has already been overwhelmingly negative (r/minecraft astroturfing aside).
Whether this stops people from watching it is anyone's guess.

Personally I think it will do well, but won't make its budget back. The film has been in development hell for a decade or so, and almost certainly has had millions dumped into its money pit over several failed attempts. Even if this particular movie makes its budget back, no way are they covering all the failed attempts.

Well you're right on that already with all the cameos and references into the movie. Though its interesting because the movie itself has become a meme and that has gotten people into wanting to see it.

This movie (mainly because of Jack Black's line delivery) has already become one of the most quotable movies out there in a while with just the trailers.

Being in development hell doesn't mean a movie costs more to make, unless they made the movie more than once, which pretty much never happens.

Snow Brown and Craptain African-America: Brown New World are massive exceptions to the norm of just going through multiple drafts by multiple writers, who usually don't get paid much at all.
