According to all reports on the matter from multiple sources, this basically is accurate.

Those accounts sound very interesting if you can release any further details without compromising the people who gave them.

My theory was somewhat different- based on Brianna's constantly abrasive behaviour online and in person, I assumed that was how she behaved with Frank, or at least that was a big part of the dynamic.

I reasoned that largely because "progressive" scifi must be crawling with low-self-esteem 3/10 women and Frank could have gone for any one of them, but chose the abrasive, arrogant, and genuinely monstrous troon. Why on earth would he do that? My original thoughts led to the conclusion that Frank is a closeted gay of the submissive variety, but as you can read on the wiki, that's a bit of a stretch given what's known of him.

The same basic facts (chooses loony troon over generic unattractive geek girl, lets Flynt emasculate him publicly) fit the "Frank-as-controller" theory, though. Brianna really does have further to fall than generic girl should Frank ditch her. If Frank left Brianna, "she" is probably on her way to that sweet Chloe Sagal lifestyle.

This also puts a different cast on Frank-Brianna relations- while previously my thinking had him down as a completely browbeaten walking wallet for his hissing and snarling troonwife, this view does provide some benefit for Frank. He's got to be at least a passable manipulator (confirmed by exwife), to have enough self-possession/calculation not to put a stop to the public emasculation that's part of his wife's persona (he's not a dumb guy, and again, his ex wife confirms him as a long con player). I imagine he encourages her wild fantasies, but with very occasional reminders that "she" amounts to very little without him.

For my own Wu question, it also implies that Brianna is at least dimly aware that she is a fraud, and a fairly transparent one to other people at that- if she genuinely had the self-belief of her persona, what would keep her latched on to Frank? Even his money wouldn't be indispensable to Congressman Brianna, game developer, software engineer and investigative journalist.

What makes this more "fusstrating" is that this idiot wants to be a politician, this comes with the territory.

I have no doubt as the heat gets worse we are going to see more meltdowns, as this isn't even major league media scrutiny and Wu is already self destructing over it.
Damn, this is just one melt down. I expect more with increasing severity because he cannot take any criticism or people poking holes in his carefully crafted fake persona. Anytime people point out how bad he is at being a programmer or engineer, he flips the fuck out.

Just wait until the media and constituents ask more questions about where he lives, his non existent degrees, etc. I have no idea why he thought he'd be able to enter politics and keep this charade up. Hubris?

I can't give too much detail, but I'll repeat something I've said several times in this thread: "Brianna Wu, Godzilla of Feminists," is a two-man act (pun intended). Frank has arranged things so Brianna is completely dependent, and this is key to their relationship; he has all the power, and he knows it. Without him, Brianna has nothing - not a car, not a home, not even a driver's liscense.

You would be surprised by the capacity the human mind has for self-deception. I would even argue that it is the only thing that keeps many people from jumping straight of a roof.

Brianna might know deep down inside that she is a fraud, but she will never-ever admit that to herself. Just try to name a single instance where she admitted that she was wrong. Besides, the only way she actually made money was not by what she did, but by who she pretends to be. All her endeavours bombed gloriously due to her own incompetence and each time she burned a fuckton of money. But as soon as she set up a Patreon and made everyone believe she was some sort of "harassed feminist game designer" money actually started rolling in. Sure, you can argue that traveling the country and holding speeches is 'actual work', but if I can make up to +12000$ a month for recycling the same old speech every other month and travel around the country while doing so, sign me up.

I don't think Wu has ever made a single dime through real work. She will play the victim until her last snarl.

I am pretty sure that each of them would ditch the other, once the other one is no longer 'needed', but the chances that Brianna will actually win her election are as probable as Elon Musk going all Doctor Evil and throwing moon rocks at the earth. Even if there comes a point when it looks like she could actually win the election, you can be very sure that either Frank will ditch her, she will ditch Frank, or - my guess - Frank will start to sabotage her campaign.

I'm having a hard time believing that Wu honestly thinks he can win, what's his end game?

Hoping he can garner enough media attention to parlay it into a talking head position on some news network or grab a spot in some shit d-list reality show?

You really have to wonder why though. Like, yeah, congratulations Frank, you completely dominated this penniless mentally-ill man. Doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment.

Does anyone know the makeup of MA-8? I mean, is it a reddish district by Massachusetts standards? That would explain why Lynch is relatively mild on the topic of President Trump. By comparison, consider Richmond County in NY, aka Staten Island -- while the rest of the city went for Hillary in positively Mao-ish numbers, Trump actually won this one borough by (low) double digits.

I'd be curious to know if this is a similar situation. It'd also be fucking hilarious to see John trying to win such a district.

Socially conservative Roman Catholics of Irish and Italian descent make up a majority of the district's voters. The voting population is 80 percent white and 40 percent have a college degree. It's a stereotypical blue-collar district. There will be snowball fights in hell before Flynt/Wu wins a primary in the 8th Massachusetts.

Which makes me wonder why he choose that district to run in.

My thoughts? This is a con, plain and simple. Wu's surrounded by people who took the money and ran and faced basically no consequences for it, so she'll cheerfully try to dip from the same wells. Wu earns some coin sperging in her usual environment, Frank gets to laugh at her failures, and makes a bit of take-home pay to pay for Wu's peggle addiction. This is how she stays relevant in a post-GG internet, escalating and trying to appeal to the shrieking NEET Social Justice Warrior crowd.
