Basically, paying to reach his goals for something like FNAF marathon since they think he’s going to have an “LE EPIC” meltdown; however, it never turns out like they think it will, but they will keep donating hoping it will eventually happens.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand trolling DSP by giving him money. The psychological torment is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical begging most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Phil's narcissistic personality, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Jew literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these begs, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike psychologically tormenting DSP with money truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the power in Phil's existential catchphrase "We need to hit that goal," which itself is a cryptic reference to needing $1500 to eat mcdonalds.
