Notice how he refers to the sponsorship money (specifically, "hefty sacrifice", "my money"). He believes it is his right and his money. This is not a normal view for someone to have.

I just realized I went through all phases of grief in under a day.

I was in denial over the judge ruling against Karl.
I got angry that Billy got away with it once again.
I tried to bargain with the result, coping that maybe the lawyer is responsible he could not defend himself.
Depressed when I read the actual full ruling and was confronted with the solid reasoning of the judge.
Acceptance that Karl is a retarded liar and Billy deserved the win.

I went from believing Karl's narrative to "maybe Billy isn't such a bad guy" in under 24h.
Going by the public reactions in general I think I am not the only one who just went through that experience, which proves the defamatory statements did have a very real effect on Billy's image.

Rather humbling to realize.

I did not say Billy is a good guy. There simply is a difference between someone being a litigious asshole who might have cheated at an irrelevant arcade game from the 1980s and what Karl implied he was, which is a vindictive malicious asshole who intentionally inflicted financial harm to someone and directly causing their apparent suicide.

I still think the lawsuit had a negative impact of Apollo Legend, and since Billy was responsible for that lawsuit he will have to live with knowing that, but I do not believe it was his intention to make Apollo Legend kill himself.

But that is what the judge ruled Karl implied with his statements, which I agree with after reading the full ruling.
The case was never about Billy being a cheat, it was about the false claim that Billy directly and intentionally drove someone to suicide.

[EDIT] I archived Karl's GoFundMe just in case he pulls it in the next few days.

I'm always so amused by these types of videos. The lawsuit loser leaving the courthouse, wife in tow, while the reporter vipers just rip off questions and jam a mic in his face. Every time I see something like this I pray that the person being questioned just goes mask off and rages. You know they want to.

Yeah, that was the same thing as this, if Apollo did something like "Yes I called Billy Mitchell a cheater it is true and I regret it" (insert comma wherever you want) then Son of a Mitchell would have nothing on him, instead he sperged out so much about how evil Bitchell is, he gave him all the ammo he could want to destroy him in court. People warned him, time and time again, what is going to happen and to cool it off with the anti-Mitchellism a bit but he didn't listen. AT ALL.

Ib4 Billy Mitchell gets sued for driving Karl Jobst to suicide.

Yeah pretty much for me as well. Initially I thought it was rather ridiculous that the judge just awarded damages without Billy having to actually prove anything, but then I thought about it and concluded that it makes perfect sense. I don't know if it's technically defamation per se to say someone caused someone's suicide, but it seems like it, because that's pretty similar to saying someone is a pedophile. If that happened in America then I would expect the same verdict.

I also realized that Karl is just as much a liar as Billy. Billy lied about playing on an emulator to get famous, Karl lied by omission by not telling his audience what the lawsuit was really about to get famous. They're literally mirror images of one another. The only difference is that Billy definitely knows he cheated and just pretends otherwise. Karl on the other hand has stared so long into the abyss of cheaters lying in speedrunning but he doesn't realize that he himself has become that which he professes to hate most - a liar.

I could easily see him turning around and claiming to his ABSOLUTE LEGENDS that "Billy Mitchell is again trying to extort me and I will never give up." He has such a Jobstinate form of autism and ego. I think he would see it for the humiliation ritual it is and rather sink his and his family's entire future than bend the knee. I would love to see it though. His child shouldn't have to grow up in that shadow of debt. I don't believe he would inherit it or anything, unsure of Aussie law. But it will destroy his life too. The only glimmer of hope is Karl and his wife find real jobs and can pass down a real skill and work ethic to him. Not GoldenEye glitches
