Dental care while incarcerated is abysmal at best. As stated, in prison you only have 2 options. If its a minor cavity they drill and fill it, anything else and its an extraction. Some states have a dentist, some just use the local dental college. There are a few states that will offer regular preventative dental care such as cleanings, but thats going to be hit or miss.

Yeah, jail is known for its top tier dental services. They'll yank the fucker out and if he's lucky, give him antibiotics. I wouldn't hold my breath on that second one though.
