The Powerpuff Girls movie for example bombed and that was still long before the brand got hit with terrible reboots.
I sometimes wonder if that's because Ebert and Roeper gave the movie a thumbs down and not just because it was based off a cartoon that not everyone watched. Even back then, normies only checked out a movie if they were interested in it, bored enough to watch a random movie, or if Ebert said it was good.
I mean, WB put it up against Men In Black II and a still-going-strong Lilo & Stitch and gave people who weren’t already invested in the series absolutely no reason to care, what the fuck did they think was going to happen? The Box Office Mojo report for the weekend even noted the bizarre decision to not have any evening showings for it!

I was lucky enough to go see the movie in theaters (and I dressed up as Blossom, was fun), and I remember thinking the room was a bit empty. There were other people there, just not a whole lot. Was weird to see an animated movie in the summer with a small audience. Nowadays that's just to be expected.
Now you know how I felt when I went to see The Iron Giant.

They always do this with movies tied to series, but in fairness I don't know how you'd get someone to care about a movie based on a show they don't watch. Nobody's gonna do catch-up just to see a movie, so how do you make an interesting story that someone would see without making them feel like they're missing something because they haven't watched the last 3-9 years of story that's already been told?

I get what you're saying, but that actually doesn't apply to the PPG movie since it's actually their origin story. Something that should've been communicated better in the marketing, but, well.....

For these questions I always go with the first one that made my nuts feel funny - though I think that crown actually goes to Bulma.

If it's TV, unfortunately I've not watched as many shows as I'd have liked to but there's still one

I probably should get around to watching more shows from back in the day

Raven.

Fucking goth girls. All my fictional crushes before her came from anime.

She was my favorite character from Reboot but I didn't feel that way about her.

Okay hear me out....

Bros I think I can fix her

Since we never saw her again, I am assuming she became a better person. I used to joke with my friends back then that Tim Drake married her after she reformed since we never saw his wife but a figure only showing her back that happens to be blonde. In the comics his love interest is named Stephanie Brown, she isn't in the TV series but this farm girl has the last name Brown. Emmylou Brown. I made that joke on a forum and they said don't give them the idea after the Nightwing and Harley Quinn love scene. By the way I found this fanart:

To break up the waifu shit, I just am saying that the Devil May Cry Netflix show is coming out tomorrow, the one made by Mr. Adi "I hate Christianity" Shankir. And if this clip is anything to go by then I think this is going to be exactly like Castlevania: a huge turd over Western religion.
