2022 is the ONLY YEAR since 2010 that happens, THE ONLY YEAR.
and its 1 MILLION DOLLAR.
You understand that there are multiple explanations beside "a loophole".
You understand that the place has people going to study the fucking place and you need goods sometimes?
If this was a loophole it would be use for a LOT MORE and a lot more people and VERY OFTEN.
But you don't understand, because you are the dumbest person in this thread.
Enjoy your penguin money
yes, i understand there can be multiple explanations, but did you know that a tariff on an empty penguin island doesn't actually change the value of US goods and services, and only serves to prevent whatever that 1.4 million dollar import transaction happened to be.

you have not made any argument to support yourself. instead, you have made the argument that yes, someone did seemingly exploit a loophole at least one time, to the value of over 1 million USD, which is a lot of money. and now that won't have to be a concern anymore. what exactly are we losing by placing this tariff into effect?

i understand that for imports that they did, yes. what i don't understand is how they EXPORTED over a million dollars of machinery to the united states when it's an unoccupied island other than a single fishery. why would you bring up their imports when we're talking about their exports? are you seriously this bad at discussing economics that you got the concepts of importing and exporting mixed up? you have not made a single point this whole thread. why don't you explain what we lose by placing this tariff on the island?

People outside of tech don’t realize how dumb they are. Their skill level is equivalent to a carpenter who doesn’t know what wood is.
That is vastly, vastly understating the problem.

Jeets are the equivalent of an contractor that doesn't know what wood is, who agrees to work as both contractor and architect and both design and build you a 3 story, 15 bedroom mansion that looks strangely like the google image search for "verrrry nice hooose saar" for the cost of a McDonalds cheeseburger, then after paying him he spends 12 months telling you it's very good saar on time saar very good saar. After you finally get tired of being told it's coming soon saaar you show up to the construction site unannounced to discover he's been subletting out 3 cargo containers to get his 25 cousins and nephews green cards, has created a superfund site of raw sewage and curry take out containers across your property, and upon seeing you he promptly drops trow and tries to dry hump your wife or daughter.

Then tells you it's all very good saar and you will be very good happy soon saar. No actual construction work has actually begun, and all the money you've spent on materials has been converted to curry take out and jeet shit.

It's not just that they're retarded, sub-nigger level IQs. It's that they have a culture that states it's perfectly ok to lie through your teeth and as long as you come out ahead, that means that you did something good in your previous life and karma is just rewarding you. Literally nothing you do in this life can and will ever matter, so... Might as well cheat and steal, and if they win, it's because the universe itself owed them. If they loose, it's because the universe itself didn't want them to succeed.

here's some more reading on the subject. their liability on this is 5% of their entire GDP, every year, and they've been in a recession since before the rail line was completed. this trillion dollar rail line was basically useless, because it has not lived up to any of its promised economic benefits.

this is the most important part. china just doesn't care what the 'rules' say.

View attachment 7172716

this rail line will NEVER pay for itself due to costs with upkeep and maintenance, because they've built it out of debt to begin with, and they've dug trillions and trillions of yuan into debt for this.
Summed it up perfectly. The high speed rail is probably the perfect example of China’s propaganda, it all looks like an amazing high tech competent government until you look behind the curtain and see the ugly reality.
There’s something a bit amusing how much of the US’s problems come from us not being able to build, while China is on the polar opposite and has built way too much. Only the first is directly addressable while the latter is being stuck up shit creek without a paddle.
Unless of course you want to admit 20 to 40 percent of your GDP is a lie and face the immediate consequences.

Well, guess what, there won't be any more years that it happens, will there?

Most of what China has been building is crumbling already due to the rampant graft and corruption leading to the use of subpar materials and techniques, and taking every shortcut possible.

Apartment buildings, freeway overpasses and dams are falling apart over there and their government suppresses it all. The footage that gets snuck out of there is insane.

If this only happened once and it's not going to happen again, then why the do you care so much?

I assume it's because it's not the Penguin paying tariffs that you care about, but because the world as it WAS is dead and the world as it WILL BE is being BORN before your eyes and that TERRIFIES you.

No, its because its dumb to put tariff in an island that you have no commerce.
Your second sentence is just sperging, no, im not afraid, continue your fanfic tho, kinda funny.

I have made multiple arguments, but you are REALLY dumb.
"someone did seemingly exploit a loophole at least one time" there is no evidence of that, zero, and if that is a concern then Trump should tell the authorities to investigate, if there is a loophole then check who is doing it.

You lose nothing putting the tariff in that island, this whole argument started by me saying that there is no proof of a loophole, and people using that argument are dumb, and yes, you are dumb.
You have no trade currently with that island, thats why its dumb, but will it change something? no, but its dumb, like you saying "Machinery is not a necessity for you".

Your actually fooling yourself in believing that a company is gonna dump more money into something instead of just tacking a sales increase and just forget about it. So now that we have a backlog of orders, those parts prices are just going to increase significantly.
You're only correct for a short amount of time. The idea behind protectionism (tariffs) is that it makes foreign goods artificially more expensive in order to give local industry a chance to grow to a point where it can compete with imports.

America is a literal God mode map edited wonderland, it has almost every possible natural resource you could want (except hot Japanese women) in abundant supply. There is no reason America couldn't compete with any country on any good domestically. Due to a long string of retarded and/or malicious past decisions, local manufacturing has been killed and everything has been offshored.

With tariffs, the intention is to make things from other countries more expensive. This means that, yes, at first, Johnny Dropshipper will slap the extra cost onto the ticket price of his plastic crap, and it will get more expensive for the average American. That's stage one.

Stage two is where American entrepreneurs realize there's a gap in the market - "hey what if I make plastic crap in America and sell it here? I can do it cheaper than him". They go to the bank and get a business loan, build up some factories, and start kicking into production. At first they're roughly the same price as the imported plastic crap, and so they can compete on quality, "Made in America", or whatever else.

Stage three is where the new local manufacturers have been in business long enough to have built up their factories to be efficient, and their business partners to have good deals. Now they are able to compete with the imported products on price, even if there is no tariff, because as established America is the best spawn point in the world.

Stage two never happens without stage one. Stage three can't happen without stage two.
that's exactly my point you retarded nigger, Iranian sponsored groups are extensions of Iranian policy. You're so retarded that you end up agreeing with me
Read the quotes back, the other thread dweller who is much nicer and better smelling than you (because you are Jewish) was taking issue with you first saying it was Iran, then saying you didn't say it was Iran in fact it was "Iranian sponsored groups", and now you're back to saying that it's Iran because they're one and the same. Do you get why your kind isn't welcome?
Why isn't UK holding the US accountable for killing British soldiers in 1991, 2003, 2007, and 2009. How about Canada when a US pilot high on go pills bombed a Canadian infanty unit killing 4 Canadian soldiers?
This is the US politics thread, I do not give a shit what the UK or Canada thinks of anything while I'm here.
It's an insane take too because in theory the people that are poor enough to actually be fucked by a price hike on toothpaste and soap ALSO can't pony up several hundred dollars in one go for personal care items, half of which are just going to go in a dumpster next time they move house.
Yet they somehow have time to be so social media addicted that they're on bluesky.

Why are you complaining about something that you expect to do nothing?

Get a life.

Reading about tariffs I notice that all the ‘economists all agree that tariffs are literally Hitler’ stuff is in relation to free trade. Discussion about tariffs as a revenue source in comparison to income and corporate taxes is nonexistent. The only thing I could really find is a historical note that America relied on tariffs for revenue until income tax took over. Has there been any serious discussion about how tariffs providing a revenue stream to the government can (a) allow lower income tax and (b) provide stimulus power in the Keynesian sense (even though we all know Keynes is bullshit) and how those two things affect citizen purchase power?

Wait, but if you believe in Karma and Reincarnation doesn't that mean you need to worry about how your actions in this life will affect the next?

I don't understand, even under their own system they're acting retarded.

Of course not. They'll be dead. Why would they care what their actions will cause in the next life?

Remember, the average Jeet IQ is 75. They're literally dumber, more inbred, than Niggers. We're talking about a culture that considers COW SHIT a delicacy.

For the last four years, I've been told that the economy was all sunshine and blowjobs, and that I was just hallucinating my grocery bill doubling in size. We we even gaslight that inflation is a good thing, and that we damn dirty peasants didn't appreciate the shit being served on our plates.

NOW the Experts™️ care about inflation and the kitchen tables of the peons?
Of course they don't. They just want something to blame on Bad Orange Man.

The Weimarican Dollar is a fact of life now. What's a little more from tariffs? Can't hurt me, I'm already in incurable pain.

Good luck. The ship for that sailed decades ago. Even the most progressive of electable Democrats are slaves to Big Business.
I will never forget that Biden was the one to finally execute the Dollar Menu.
Yes. Black crime is probably way worse than what they show.
And it's even worse than that because of fucking St Floyd showing every cop that their departments will leave them out to dry if they have to even be a tiny bit rough with shucking and jiving niggers. Even if they are going by protocol they are fucked.
Funny how this only gets passed when McConnell is losing his soft control.

While everyone is sperging about tariffs, a Congressheboon is getting sued by Matt Taibbi for libel. Suit documents attached.

A Response to a Member of Congress

Sydney Kamlager-Dove, Democrat of California, accused me of serial sex offenses in a public hearing, then said my lack of response was "telling." It's listed below

Matt Taibbi

Sydney Kamlager-Dove, a Democrat representing California’s 37th district in Los Angeles, began her opening remarks in a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing Tuesday with a comment directed to me. “To distract from the dumpster fire this administration is pursuing,” she said, the Republicans were “elevating a serial sexual harrasser as their star witness.”
Right after the hearing, she re-tweeted the comment on X and BlueSky, writing, “After this, Republicans gave Matt Taibbi time to defend himself. It’s telling that he didn’t.”

There is not much a person like me can say to a member of Congress hiding behind the protections of the Speech and Debate clause of the Constitution.
One can however respond to a member arrogant enough to repeat those claims on social media. I’ve now done so, in the form of a $10 million libel lawsuit filed today in a New Jersey federal court:

Rep. Kamlager-Dove, no woman has ever accused me of engaging in sexual harrassment once, let alone serially. See you in court. Please do not evade service.

The government is full of dumb efficiencies. Why does this one bother you so much?

Your second sentence is just sperging, no, im not afraid, continue your fanfic tho, kinda funny.
Lay it out for me then.

Trump's goal is to bring back America's manufacturing and is in the process of using Tariffs to accomplish that. Is your issue with tariffs that prices are going to go up while the country grapples with the reality we have to make our own shit again or because you think it won't work at all so this is pain for nothing?
