it is funny, even though i like some rare games, their fanboys are so fucking annoying in the retro scene. so anything that pisses off Rare-tards is a plus in my book. (also rare hasn't been good in years, let it go rare fans)This is almost funny, in a way
the ultimate way to force them is to vote with your wallets, the Xbox one basically lost the generation with their E3 showing in 2013, as everyone went to buy PS4s instead, that's the only true way to get it to these corpations. We live in captailistic market economics, so hit their bottom line, that will force them more than any internet/youtuber bitching will ever dayWell hey, you can only go so far before people will eventually have had enough.
Again, this isn't the first time Nintendo has had to deal with backlash, so I wouldn't be surprised if this forces them to try to course correct. Course, that may not happen either.
Heck, it wasn't until the 3DS hit its early struggles that Nintendo finally managed to turn it around. Wii U had the misfortune of numerous dry spells and poor third party support, so hopefully, the Switch 2 will be more like the former than the latter.the ultimate way to force them is to vote with your wallets, the Xbox one basically lost the generation with their E3 showing in 2013, as everyone went to buy PS4s instead, that's the only true way to get it to these corpations. i hope its the former, nintendo iirc tried to charge like 280$ for the 3ds at launch, and within 6 months, dropped it to 170$ thats when i got my 3ds. also nintendo line up for 3ds was weak at launch (who gives a shit about steeldivers). Nintendo is capable of backtracking and learning from their fuck ups, but i fear with the massive success of the switch 1, they'll not back down with the switch 2. but in general with the switch 2, i believe it will sell half the orignal switch did (so about 75ish million), which is no where near bad, but its the same level of drop sony had from the PS2 to PS3Heck, it wasn't until the 3DS hit its early struggles that Nintendo finally managed to turn it around. Well, it also depends on what else that they're bringing to the table. Because we're kind of overdue for...An lot of shit, reallybut in general with the switch 2, i believe it will sell half the orignal switch did (so about 75ish million),
and being compelely honest, id still rather buy a switch 2 than either a PS5 or Xbox Series X, mostly because for portablity and the fact i feel even tho they're overpriced, nintnedo will make actual good games for the switch 2, ill just buy them on sale thoWell the 3DS was also coming off of a huge install base with the DS as well, so yeah.
And again, since Nintendo usually manages to be successful thanks to families enticed by them being more affordable, I can only hope that this gives them a much needed wake-up call.
Their last set of games felt pretty dumbed down, imonintnedo will make actual good games for the switch 2,
Now that's fucking retarded, even for you. Now go sit in the corner for 5 minutes and think about what you've donewhat if they’re trying to get rid of Diddy Kong because of the whole Diddy thing
im arguing more in relative to Microsoft and sony, at least nintendo games require some of your brain to play, compared to the sony movie game template and whatever bipolar tier shit mircosoft pumps outTheir last set of games felt pretty dumbed down, imo

Yeah, but they're kind of drifting away from this with the last few Mario RPGs. Nearly everything gets an forced tutorial or what suspense that existed gets replaced with an giant warning sign about an incoming boss fight.at least nintendo games require some of your brain to play,
I think I will instead raise Nintendo’s ridiculous censorship standards and the fact that they are a Japanese company with a monkey named DiddyNow that's fucking retarded, even for you. Now go sit in the corner for 5 minutes and think about what you've done
with mario RPGs, I'd argued brothership was better with less tutorials, than Paper Jam or Dream Team (Dream Team is infamous for long tutorials), and i'd argued Brothership is better than paper jam (tho that's not hard). I havent really noticed much forced tutorials in Nintendo games during the switch era, but maybe im just blind or maybe my mind is forgetting (granted i dont play every damn switch nintendo game, there may be one with bad tutorials i havent played)Yeah, but they're kind of drifting away from this with the last few Mario RPGs. Luigi's Mansion 3 managed to mostly avoid this shit, but it had it's own set of problems
The people in this thread talking about kids are talking out of their ass. The Switch's biggest and main demo continues to be men aged 18-35.I dont really see many children with Switches these days. Mostly ipads. The only demographic I really see whaling for Nintendo are grown ass adults on welfare and disability. I dont think they can afford this shit so idk what Nintendo was thinking with the pricing.
The difference with PC is that it's not a locked-down platform. I don't need special game carts or executables blessed by gaben to play a game on PC. If Steam dies or a publisher goes belly up, the game will still be easily obtainable as abandonware without me needing to mod shit. Parts for PC will always be generally obtainable and I won't ever be in a situation where I need to track down some kind of obscure replacement part just so I can play a 20 year-old game.I have always called out steam for not letting people truly own their games, my point being is that you see PCMR fags go on about consoles for not owning games, but I tell them to look in the mirror, the utter truth is that except for GOG, no platform lets you own your games. Which is sad considering people have given up ownership rights to feel comfortable.
I get where you're coming from, but replace steam with GOG for me, and just outright piracy, after watching Zesty Jesus and how valve treated games i loved like TF2, and the utter trash of their newer games (CS2, Deadlock). I just don't trust modern valve anymore. the only way to truly preserve shit is via piracy or internet archives, idk the last time i actual bought a game off steam, i just pirate and use that spacewars exploit to get it working with multiplayerThe difference with PC is that it's not a locked-down platform. But this is all besides the point - I feel like giving Steam my trust is not a bad play considering I have games I bought back in 2007 that I still have full access to. Meanwhile a game I bought 10 years ago from Soytendo on the 3DS eshop is no longer obtainable without modding my console. And when my 3DS finally kicks it, where am I going to be able to play it? Oh that's right - on PC.
The only reason consolefags croon about physical media ownership so much is because they know it's the only safe bastion on a platform designed to imprison them and cut off their balls.
I definitely prefer GOG (or even more obscure sites like MangaGamer or JAST USA for my DRM-free visual novel sloppa).I get where you're coming from, but replace steam with GOG for me, and just outright piracy, after watching Zesty Jesus and how valve treated games i loved like TF2, and the utter trash of their newer games (CS2, Deadlock). And i agree, tho i do wanna say i am scared of modern Tech just abanonding support of older standards, you say you buy games from 2007 and they work, but now with companies like Nvidia canning 32bit support and Phsyx support, i wonder how long PC parts will go before getting to the point of making older games just not work ever. Like how windows XP killed off 16 bit DOS support, so you had to get an emulator (but even then thats emulation, compared to hardware encoded standards like PhysX) . i may just be paranoid, but i feel Nvidia and Intel would be the type to utterly abandon tech standards for dumb reasonI definitely prefer GOG (or even more obscure sites like MangaGamer or JAST USA for my DRM-free visual novel sloppa).
My point is more aimed at the tendie equivocation about the game key cards. It misses the point entirely - I want physical copies with the game data on it for a hypothetical situation where Nintendo is no longer maintaining the servers for their platform (something they've already done multiple times and often within 2 or 3 years of a console being discontinued). With Steam I can, at the very least, point to the fact that very few games have ever outright disappeared from the platform and that they're still honoring my purchases decades later. Now obviously if we suddenly get evil Valve tomorrow my opinion is subject to change but right now I'm significantly more comfortable buying a game on Steam instead of on a Switch 2 Game Key Card.
