Nintendo Switch 2 - For the Soytendo consoomers to speculate about the successor to the Switch, recently announced for 2025.

and that's respectable, I'm just more mocking those that will complain, yet still buy it day one, or those that buy other types of overpriced trash (IE 50 series of GPUs). Like i'm willing to bet people like Mutahar (some ordinary gamer) who has made videos shitting on the switch 2, will still buy it day 1, or demand a free system from nintendo, because modern tech youtubers are fags it seems (with maybe the sole execption of digital foundry, but that's debatable)
I agree. We’ll see those same people cry that it’s too much money and anti-consumer only to make a video that they have the switch and here are their thoughts. Just no principles when it comes to the almighty YouTube dollar.

I usually wait a year or two before i buy a new console. Last one was the Switch back in 2019.

To be honest I was mostly looking forward to the Switch 2 just because I wanted to see what sort of games would get next gen patches, moreso than actual launch titles because there are a lot of great Switch games that are held back by the shitty hardware, and they couldn't even really get that right because apparently absolute shovelware like Captain Toad was more worthy of it than stuff like Pikmin 4 or Luigi's Mansion 3. My autistic ass was kinda hoping for older games like Monster Hunter GU to get at least a performance upgrade, but maybe 3rd party devs will put out their own patches. Still between how barren the launch line-up is and with nothing being really upgrade I'm not exactly in a rush to get one of these things even outside of the jewish pricing on everything across the board. I would rather upgrade my GPU and have fun doing a case mod on my normal Switch in the mean time.

Fair enough, i'd like to get a switch 2 day one, but if i dont so be it, ill wait till scalpers fuck off. I didnt get a switch 1 until when around mario odyssey came out, but i know the risks of getting a system day one. But the people that are the most "vocal" and the like, will ALWAYS turn their backs on their beliefs for some money. But i maybe its just me, but it feel so many of those on twitter and the like that bitch constanlty, are like NEETs that dont have to actual "earn" their console and games, they dont have to balance an adult budget, they just get free goverment money, so i will always respect the opinions of those that actual bought their system/game than those that get it for free/get it with welfare

Yeah. I can outright buy a pallet of Switch 2 if i wanted to. But i have alot of other shit going on in my life and the rest of the year to worry about a new console. My Deck suites my needs and our Switch is still holding up with all the abuse my kids have put it through.

It’s people’s money and i don’t care. But when people can’t stand on their principles, makes me go hmmm.

i have more respect for the most die hard nintendo shills defending the switch 2, than faggots shitting on it, only to try to buy it day 1. its one thing to be a fanboy, its another to be a fake/hypocritical critic.

that is still one of the funniest moments in PC gaming history. but i agree with you, i think i said on the regular switch thread i bet a lot of switch 2 haters will still buy it day one (mostly youtuber fags), maybe its antidote scenario, reminds me of a friend saying he would boycott any PC game that was 70$, and within mere weeks, he started buying 70$ pc games. A lot of people just can't stick to their words it seems.
Edit: i also remember a friend who called all consoles a scam, but bought a RTX 5090 scalped, and that just makes me laugh in pure irony
And GPUs are still being sold at absurd rates above their MSRP. Ridiculous situation we're in.

Honestly, prior to the bullshit, with how big of a switch backlog I have and how often I use my switch, especially for multiplayer where emulation isn't really an alternative, I could have easily justified buying a switch 2 for $399 to use it almost purely as a switch pro for the first couple years. Probably gonna do a bit of a canvas at Easter and figure out just how much of the extended family really wants to play the new mario kart and make my decision based off of that. I'll also say without a hint of shame that I'm a complete and utter whore for metroid, and the idea of 120fps prime 4 with mouse controls definitely doesn't make the decision an easy pass.

Has Nintendo every done anything but charge people for horribly outdated hardware? But I see your point. The reason I can get behind $450 is because of the portability. Though, I'll admit, the price of the games might skew my view on the price. Five physical games and you've already paid the same as you did for the console.

I think what the original poster meant was that they care more about the plastic boxes themselves, and being able to have them in their collection, is more important than the games themselves. Like how so many games came out as "Code in box" just so that people could collect the cases.
Yeah, but they never charged people almost $500 for it. I think the Wii which was a overclocked Gamecube was $250 the Wii U was $300 and the Switch was the same price. This is a huge jump in price for outdated hardware that was outdated a decade ago. The Switch was basically an overclocked 360. I heard the Japs will get to spend $330 on the Switch 2. That's the actual price. Everyone else gets the jacked up round eye Western pig price.

Caring more about the case than the game is retarded logic. Like I said I have mine stashed away in boxes. Not all of my games came with cases. Some of them I had to buy used and I couldn't get a case with it. It wasn't a big deal to me, but I do like getting the case as well. As long as it isn't some shitty blank case like the ones GameStop used to use.

The non-bundled Switch 2 is now SOLD OUT at Australia’s biggest gaming retailer:

But I was told the Switch 2 would be a repeat of the Wii U 😆

I'm not American, so I don't know what the prices were for the older generations and thus can't accurately compare. The more I read about the S2 the more I'm inclined to agree with you though - apparently loads of those third-party titles announced will run at 30/40 FPS and still have a considerable graphical decease. Not surprising, I suppose, but at the same time, I can't help but wonder how the fuck can you release such a shitty console in 2025? $350, tops, is what I'd pay if I could be bothered.

This is retarded logic. For starters, we've no idea how many units they had available. And it could still flop going forward after the inital hype dies down. It probably won't, though, because the Switch is aimed at children and manbabies with more money than brains, and the latter will happily splurge on whatever daddy Ninty puts out.

Then, explain to me how the Wii U flopped so hard? Or how the Gamecube sold badly. Or how the 3DS launch was so awful that Nintendo dropped the price by 30%.

Audience. Previous generations were primarily aimed at children. For some reason, manbabies latched on to the Switch like fucking vampire bats and catapulted its popularity far beyond its actual value. (And yeah, I own a Switch.)

I somehow ended up knowing two fuckers who came to embody this fucking meme.

There's obviously other factors at play, but besides the console itself being a decent upgrade to the Switch...it's a sequel to the Switch. People would buy it regardless of price.
I agree… but so many on here and Reddit and Youtube insist that “nobody will pay $500 for Mario Kart”.

As much as I loved Kirby and the Forgotten World, I'm not rebuying the game at $60+ just for another set of reskinned levels with tougher challenges and one new ability. I also know for sure that Pokemon Za is absolutely NOT going to be worth $90.
Wait, has it been confirmed that the Kirby DLC is going to be that much? I really wish that games were as easy to pirate as movies and TV shows. I would like to point out that I got laid off back in December when my employer downsized and am still between jobs. I am going to buy Pokémon Za no matter what though and I'm probably going to cave in to that Kirby DLC too.

Has it been confirmed whether or not I'll be able to import all of my downloaded games and save data to the Switch 2?

Yes, you can transfer everything over unless it's like Labo or something specifically tied to a peripheral. If you already own Forgotten Land and want the Switch 2 upgrade, you just have to buy the upgrade pack.
