Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

It’s both 8th and 9th gen, the switch 2 will probably be considered both 9th and 10th gen, Nintendo has gotten themselves to releasing consoles in the middle of a generation, meaning their consoles will exist in 2 generations now
I suppose so, it did compete with both. Although it'd probably be the biggest time gap between consoles in a given generation, I do feel like Switch fits better in 9th gen. There was a similar time gap between TG-16 and SNES, but not quite as big, yet they're both considered 4th gen. Similar situation with GameCom & N-Gage, they don't fit too neatly into a generation either.

Games running slower in PAL is mostly a problem of JP developer parochialism.

I hope everyone doesn't stop making memes making fun of the price tag, everyone needs to be aware of how retardedly absurd asking all this shit from you is.

4th is really good too, but to really get the most out of it you need to be pretty into certain more arcade-y genres like beat em ups & scrolling shooters. 3rd gen requires masochism to appreciate that NES Hard shit. 7th was definitely solid, it's almost interchangeable with 4th but nostalgia counts for something to me, so it loses out.

I'd rank generations something like 6th > 5th > 4th > 7th > 8th > 9th > 3rd > 2nd > 1st (I've not actually played it but I don't think I need to lol, maybe out of historical curiosity some day)

As for Switch, am I the only one who counts it as 9th gen?
Can you please explain how the 3rd gen (NES. Master System, OG Gameboy), is a worse gen than the slop on PS5/Xbox. I'm not mad, just extremely curious on your reasoning

its a shame even PC no longer has 60$ games, i was really hoping PC players would put up more a fight against 70$, but i guess not, i swear PC gaming went to shit in the 2010s with all these zoomer newfags, they bring their consolefag nigger mindset with them to the PC . but why should i care? i never pay for games to begin with. :)
The great thing about steam is 3rd party key sellers, even forgetting the grey market, you can get new games at better prices on sites like GreenManGaming, fanatical and others if you keep your eye out.

Only idiots will buy games at full price on steam without looking around first.

i get loads of shit from people when i say i pirate all games, or use key sites, they try to moralfag saying for some devs is offensive to pirate their games, mostly indie games/devs, to which i call them out for moralfagging on a topic such as piracy.
There is no one game that is wrong to pirate, if you cant afford it, you cant afford it, so pirate away, dont let the moral police dictate what you can and can't do.

So how expensive are the upgrades for Switch 1 games like BOTW going to be? Cause anything over $20 I think is a bit too much.

They should be FREE. If you already have the games you have already spent $60 for BOTW and $70 for TOTK, not to mention $450 for the Switch 2. Oh, and lets not forget the fucking SEASON PASS for BOTW. Nintendo has gone full retard.

*edit - I'm already at the point where any and all hype I had or the Switch 2 is dead. The biggest hype killer for me is the "game-key cards." I like to physically own anything I spend money on, so the idea of spending money on a game cartridge that will just become a useless piece of plastic the millisecond Nintendo's next console releases really pisses me off. Nintendo has a terrible track record in maintaining access to digital titles on legacy consoles, and I have no doubt in my mind that many publishers will simply choose to release games on "game-key" cards because they are cheaper to produce. One of the surprise announcements I was really excited about was the Bravely Default remaster, which was then immediately destroyed when I found out it was getting released as a "game-key" card. Fuck that. I understand the hypothetical convenience and benefits of going all digital but, up to this point, Nintendo has repeatedly proven that going all digital will result in nothing but benefit for Nintendo with none of the potential benefit to the customer.

The way I see it, if there's some shit that's so garbage I wouldn't even pirate it then I figure fuck it, no gods no masters no fucks given.

Another example, look at Crunchyroll/Funimation. I used to throw money at them intermittently as a way of showing I appreciated their service and wished for them to continue bringing more anime out of obscurity to the West.

But when it turns out CRoll was taking money supposedly meant for licensing and spending it on garbage DEI pet projects like High Guardian Spice, I decided they weren't getting my money anymore. Haven't looked back since.

Example 3: The new Devil May Crime anime. I don't even want it for free, I just want to see Adi Shankar drawn and quartered.

TOTK and Prime 4 are free if you have the NSO expansion pak, but I'm not sure we have the prices for the rest yet. Anything more than $15 seems like too much.
i'd paid at most like 5$ for an upgrade, if i absolutely HAD to pay, anything 10 and above is bullshit. the only console company to do next gen upgrades right is microsoft.

It's honestly better for everyone if the console flops
It’s very ironic the most pro consumer console of the big 3, the Xbox series X/S ended up doing the worst this gen, sad reality is the switch 2 will probably crush the gen and rival the ps5, proof modern console gamers don’t support pro consumer ideals or platforms

I think that's partly because a decent PC is a better Xbox than an Xbox Series X/S. Of course, if I could emulate everything that's on Switch on my Retroid Pocket 5, then my Retroid Pocket 5 would be a better Switch than the Switch, but unfortunately Switch emulation isn't 100% yet, and of course emulating Switch games is morally wrong! I would never do such a thing!

(My advice for people with a Retroid Pocket 5 is to use it for both Switch and Vita emulation, you'll easily fill up a 1TB SD card that way and still have room on the hard drive for native Android stuff.)

Meh. I can't stop them putting an $80 price tag on their digital game licenses, sure, but I can certainly prevent my wallet from purchasing them. These companies forget sometimes that they can't afford to continually push more people like me out of the ring. I like the Switch and have a bunch of physical games for it, but my interest in the S2 after all this is zero. If enough people make the same decision, it will be a good swing at stopping the practice.
They're really missing how bad this could be. It's not a competition of buying X number of games for one system or another., no I already have enough games. I could stop buying completely over how retarded the pricing and purchase model is altogether, and just play my back catalog instead for years.

They're competing with gamers pile of shame.
