Even if manufacturing does come back to America, this isn't the 1800s when you could just make wagon wheels in a barn modern manufacturing takes years and billions of dollars to get off the ground and the working class will be suffering until then.
Yes, unfortunately the nature of investment is that in the short term you're worse off than either before or after the investment realizes. There is no reason to prioritize only the short-term in an economy, though. Its long-term health is what matters, and that would unquestionably be more secure if we had more domestic manufacturing.

Rising prices will create the incentive on their own, but the other half is too much regulation and red tape and taxation making it hard to build things or start businesses. Those will also need to be dealt with. I'm sure DOGE has already helped in some way just by the fact of closing down government bureaus.

What was the reason for the sh*tskin invasion of the southern border? VDH outlines a number of good possibilities, but he forgot to mention the anti-white ethos that pervades Leftist ideology.

Fun fact: Victor David Hanson accused John Dolan AKA the "War Nerd" for someone burning down his apple orchard ~20 years ago because Uncle Dolan wrote an article where he fantasized about burning down his apple orchard.

I don't find obese, elderly, senile conmen attractive and dare disagree with retarded shit that he does and that makes people in this thread seethe with rage because they want this whole forum to be a hugbox where no one dare criticizes Dear Leader. That's why there's been more than 1 attempt for these retards to try and get me banned because they think that not worshipping Republicans with every fiber of your being should be a bannable offense (spoiler: it's not).

I apologize for daring speak badly of Dear Leader and being against prices going up 35%. If Dear Leader makes us all homeless and bankrupt, it is certainly for the greater good. I will say 50 Hail Trump prayers in an act of contrition
You type like Patrick Tomlinson, and your desperate attempts to seek attention from a thread of people who you hate- and who hate you likewise- are pathetic. (Spoiler: you're really fucking gay).

>dip bros ass-blasted
>China-shills working overtime
>401k-fags melting down

Jesus fuck guys we know we know America can't stop winning and Trump's victory streak is unbreakable we fucking get it already.
I don’t care if my 401k dips because I contribute to it every paycheck and I’m not going to withdraw from it because I’m not a moron. If anything the stocks are on sale.
Depends. On its own replacing an income tax with tariffs is essentially a consumption tax meaning lower incomes are disproportionately impacted.
Richer people consume more. Personally I prefer tariffs + a tax on beer, cigarettes/cigars, marijuana, soda, and a general sales tax over income taxes. The latter has a lot of loopholes the former does not.

China would have to import something from the US first for those tariffs to matter.
They used to import fucktons of our coal which always pissed me off because the areas of our country that actually mine, clean and process the coal got fucked over while China continued draining us of an essential resource. Thanks Clinton!

No one has still made a point on how this will realistically benefit the average american, All of the proponents of the tariffs can do is point to some vague future where domestic manufacturing is just like what it was in the early 20th century and the steps to get there is some wishy washy "industry will surely come back to us!", it's pretty much all pure hopium that it will all just go the way exactly as planned.
Okay, you stupid nigger. I will say it. Gen Z and Gen Alpha will become the wealthiest generation in the past 30 years. That's how it will benefit us.

Let me tell you the reality about the tariffs. The countries that care and are fucked by the tariffs are on the phone with Trump now giving him whatever he wants to lower them. The countries that don't give a shit are just eating it on the chin. They're capitulating and giving Trump everything he asked for. Why? Because every trade fight he started over the past 3 months, he's one. Canada is cacucked. EU is cucked. China, well they really don't give a rats anus and allegedly Xi only cares so much.

We are an importing nation. You do not want to BE an importer nation. Being an importer nation is only done because you're an island and you have to. America does not have to, yet we are. We want to export. Everything we currently export is taxed out the ass by Europeans to the point that it's no longer competitive. There is nothing the rest of the world can do about this. You will not see a "New League of Nations" form to dodge America's tariffs because none of them have the military might to do so. WE are their military might. At the end of the day, they cannot "band together to #resist". They will lose every single time.

Edit: @George Lucas I didn't say time the market. Just do what Hulk said, pick some good looking companies and enjoy the discounts.

but when i watched this video recently, it clarified much for me. does the world (the US and Ukraine specifically) really need to commit inhuman atrocity to get the point across that Russia can't win, and has already lost?
Yes, unfortunately. Boomers were raised on hearing what Allied forces had to do in order for Germany and Japan to surrender (lib boomers take issue with Japan being nuked, but not Germany being fire bombed 🤔). Millennials were raised on video games and movies where Nazis and other faceless bad people were killed en masse for entertainment and it was okay because they were bad people.

A couple if my lefty antitrump coworkers were freaking out about our companies stock going down and how trump is ruining the economy and our bonuses.
I pointed out the stock is higher than it was this point last year and the fiscal year ended on the 31st. The guy said something about "that's not how companies work" and I left it at that.
Checking further and the stock went up the days following Trumps Inauguration than it's gone down so far.
Congratulations. You've discovered that you are smarter than your co-workers. It's a common thing in 2025.
