The seethe over the next few days will be astronomical as the switch 2 has been confirmed to have delayed its preorders because of tariffs,
I predict most will be trannies, NPCs, redditors and faggots. Anyone who is not pozzed by Globohomo realized that the only games worth playing are the old ones.

Yeah. The game industry has spent years alienating its core fanbase on purpose for a source of money that has now evaporated. They're about as badly positioned as one could be.

Is it true that if the market tanks 30% 94% of that loss will by felt by just 8% of the population? Also would this really allow trump to refinance the national debt using treasures?

I dont know that I believe this. People have a tendency to ascribe master plans and grand strategies to trump but half the time it seems more like he Mr. Magoo's his way through things than anything else.

You know it’s kind of deeply depressing realizing how many people in this country care more about not being to pre-order, not buy, but fucking pre-order a game system that’s going to be on the shelves for the next seven years, then they do about the overall health of the fucking nation they live in… I just can’t understand these people, like yea I’m kinda excited for the Switch 2 but like if I couldn’t get one I wouldn’t be mad or anything about it. Then seeing these same people be so mad that they might not be able to buy cheap products from a country that literally uses slave labor, while they call anyone who disagrees with them Nazis….Just can’t fucking understand it man…

Yall think trump is aiming to make the top corpos poorer? Lol. Lmfao. Musk is literally right next to him in every photo.
<spits in spitoon> Y'all rootin'-tootin' conservaters never dagnabbit predicted the dang-gun STONK market might heckin' SLIP for a day

It's not just about onshoring it's also about fair trade and negotiation. I'm assuming it's also about sussing out allies/future allies and exposing our "allies". I'd also guess that Trump had an idea about which countries would be willing to talk and negotiate and which ones would scream and cry like toddlers. Surprise, surprise, it's China and the West.

Don't forget all the American economic experts and geniuses who said and did nothing while we were in the Biden/Obama recessions. Only now are they're worried that things are actually being done to try and fix the mess they told us to pretend wasn't happening. We should have just stayed status quo and let the world screw us over in trade, migrants, useless programs, etc. That would have solved everything, not facilitate our demise. Oh wait, here's why America's demise is a good thing.

Trump’s Tariffs Spark Debate on Possible Breach of NATO Treaty

A barrage of tariffs unleashed by US President Donald Trump has sparked a discussion among NATO members on whether the move breaches the military alliance’s treaty.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide confronted US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a meeting in Brussels this week, by reading out the North Atlantic Treaty Organization’s Article 2 pledge that says allies should avoid economic conflict.

“I think he got the point,” Eide told Norwegian broadcaster NRK. “And quite a few Europeans agreed.”

Several European foreign ministers have also expressed concern during the meeting that concluded on Friday that the tariffs would spark inflation and could hamper their goal to spend more on defense.

“The extra money we are willing to spend on defense, we don’t want to spend it on inflation,” Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp told reporters on Friday. “We want to spend it really on equipment, on defense and increasing our deterrence.”

“And the risk of these tariffs is increasing inflation,” he said.

Even before the latest tariffs were announced, Trump had thrown NATO member states off balance by questioning its pledge of collective defense for those countries that fall short of the military spending goals. He has also engaged with Russia in an attempt to end three years of war in Ukraine.

Rubio sought to reassure allies on Thursday by insisting that the US had no intention of leaving the alliance. But he reiterated Trump’s demand for members, including the US, to spend as much as 5% of gross domestic product on defense.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte sought to downplay the controversy, telling reporters on Friday that he didn’t think the US tariffs would violate the treaty. He cited “many examples of differences of views” in the past, without elaborating.

Rutte has made increasing defense spending one of his key messages to allies, who are expected to agree on a new pledge to spend more than 3% on defense at the next NATO summit in The Hague in June.
Tariffs cause Nintendo to delay Switch 2 preorders in U.S.

Nintendo is delaying U.S. preorders for its highly anticipated Switch 2 console because of the new tariffs announced by President Donald Trump, the company said Friday.

“Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date,” the statement said. It added that the handheld console is still launching June 5 as planned.

Nintendo appears to be one of the first major companies to publicly adjust plans for a consumer release since Trump announced sweeping tariffs on much of the world two days ago, plunging the global economy into uncertainty and sending stock markets diving.

The trade policy included a 46 percent tariff on goods from Vietnam and a 49 percent tariff on Cambodia — countries where Nintendo has shifted large portions of its hardware production, according to the Financial Times. It also imposed a 24 percent tariff on Japan, where Nintendo is headquartered, and sharply raised tariffs on imports from China, which announced retaliatory duties on Friday.

Nintendo detailed features of the Switch 2 on Wednesday, the same day Trump announced his tariffs. The device is the long-awaited successor to the Switch, the third best-selling game console in history after the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS. With a base price of $449.99, the Switch 2 offers a few twists on the handheld platform’s design, including mouse capability with its detachable controllers and upgraded visuals supporting HDR and 4K resolution and 120 frames-per-second gameplay.

The gaming world reacted to Wednesday’s reveal with excitement, mixed with some online chatter about the system’s high price. The original Switch launched in 2017 at $300, a base price that helped it garner a reputation as an accessible gaming platform for casual gamers and families. This week, the company announced that its same-day launch title “Mario Kart World” would release at $79.99, $10 higher than the current standard for major video games, or as a bundle with the system for $499.99.

If U.S. tariff policy doesn’t change, economists and industry analysts expect that smartphones, laptops, video game consoles and e-bikes could cost Americans hundreds of dollars more.

A January analysis from the Consumer Technology Association, a trade group opposed to the tariffs whose members include Apple, Lenovo and Samsung, estimated that U.S. prices for video game consoles could increase by about 40 percent as console sales drop.

You know, I'm thinking about all the Tarrif riff raff and about how far away from North America most of these countries are. The true, green energy libtards should be praising this as it discourages intercontinental trade ie less fuel burned by cargo ships. Not to mention home grown factories are easier to regulate, something libtards love to do, and push effective green policies to where it really matters; building to building. Imagine if every building became individual power plants creating a job boom for all the displaced electricians.

>Funko pops cost increases 1000%

"Nooo! NOOOO! This is like fifty holocausts combined into some mega-caust of cuasts!"
You really believe that anyone besides the Boomers are going to be able to retire?
Any millennial who doesn't buy the dip right now and didn't throw out puts or shorts before the tariffs took effect? Shitt~

I mean does trump want the other countries to back down on their own tariffs or does he want manufacturing back in the US, because afaik you can’t do both if you rescind your own tariffs after a deal is made.
It's a good idea to remind the cuck countries that get uppity about america that if they try to form a union, their "allies" will fold like wet cardboard.
