Berserk Series Discussion - RIP Kentaro Miura

Big chance that Miura had no plan to finish it and the notes he left were basically "lol make something up idk".

I hate it will take a decade or more to finish at this rate.
I honestly lost all taste for the ending given the Fantasia arc beyond Casca coming back has been fucking ass.

Now it's coupled with the dogshit art. I mean it already was the cutesy shit Miura started doing when the boat finally ended but now it's far far worse. Just because they're crosshatching the shit out of nearly every panel doesn't immediately make it "good" when you're comparing it to previously work in the series.

Like this is laughable.

And this is Miura coming back after ending the hiatus... like what the fuck is this?

Digital art is such a crapshoot where it'll be amazing... or it's just chunky lines and everything looks plastic.

It’s his friend going “I think I know where he was driving at.”
That's why the series ended with Miura. People change every day, people find new inspiration every day, the story of almost every manga is an ongoing thing capable of drastic change. Even if they got clifnotes from Miura's basement, even it it was Miura's long lost mental twin continuing "Kentaro Miura's Berserk sans Kentaro Miura" - It Still Isn't Legit. The little bits of dialogue, the understanding of the characters at a foundational level, the >>Artistic Mastery<<, all of these are things that no replacement could ever hope to have, I don't care if it's his "best buddy", he isn't Miura. He never was and never will be.

And I find it to be the height of niggercattle consumerism when all the plebbit-tier cunts, who spent years saying "Miura is one of a kind and cannot be replaced!", immidiately jumped on board the hype train for the foe-continuation of "Kentaro Miura's Berserk sans Kentaro Miura". They literally replaced the man they said was irreplacable, and they eat up the slop. I spit.

Just stop reading after Casca gets her brain unfucked and pretend she and Guts live happily ever after.

It's a better ending than whatever real one they make up anyways.

I am definitely on the side of 'they should have let it die with Miura."

HOWEVER, if there really were/are notes.. publish them! We don't need the Japanese Joseph Smith running around telling us what Miura was going to do if we have an actual physical record of it.

At this point I just want the story tied up, even if it sucks I want to see the end. Berserk was already dead when it turned into Shonen-lite during the boat arc. Compare Guts' fight with the Count or Rosine to the Sea God one; first two he wins by outwitting opponents who are about 10 times stronger and faster than he is, second he wins by hitting him very hard and being the party tank while Schierke's the party healer and slaps buffs around. Meh, and it went on for something like 10 years.

That's why the series ended with Miura.
It ended 10-15 years before Miura died. The Miura that wrote Black Swordsmen, Golden Age or Lost Children was not the same man that wrote "meandering at sea" for a decade. Thankfully, the whiplash was never as savage as what happened with Vinland Saga. But what was fascinating about Berserk was how uncompromising and savage it was, and well, it stopped being that a long time ago. Somebody has already mentioned that Schierke has plot armor as thick as honey (Isisdro as well, that kid has been shielded from soo much insane shit going against the message of Lost Children) and I've harped on this other times on the thread, but Serpico would have been dead and buried ages ago if the tone stuck with classic Berserk.

Now that we are in Nu Berserk, they are just trying to stick any sort of landing and be done with it. I honestly also think the series should have been dropped at that point and just publish Miura's notes if any and be done with it. People say they want to respect his work and not leave it unfinished, but what I see is people puppeteering a corpse.

The amount of normie fag niggercattle defending this art is astounding.

YOU SHOULD BE LUCKY WE'RE EVEN GETTING ANYTHING! READ IT FOR THE STORY!

Yeah you know what, the story has fucking sucked for like a decade now. This is just slop for tourists that just found the series. The way this series has meandered and with how painful it is to look at has made me lose all taste for ever reading it again past Miura's death.

I like the new artstyle. It has gotten much better since the first 2 or 3 chapters after Miuras passing. It's not as good as Miura's because he was brilliant but the thing is Miuras style started to suck when he started to play these cutesy video games. His art became cuter. The style before the kawaii-fication of Berserk was the best in my opinion and this is what the new style reminds me of. I prefer this over more cute shit and chestnut puck.

There's no fucking way that's canon.
We never see any panels of what he looks like fully but I'm just guessing the figure wouldn't have come out like it did if Miura said anything against it.
I gathered some panels of Void raising his arms and looking at these again, I don't think the idea of his body being just his spine is that unreasonable.
Though I did always assume he'd have a more mummified looking, but still complete body.
