If worshipping the market got our country to this point, then what good was the worship?

I do not care if the stock market crashes. I kind of hope it does, given that it's very blatantly bullshit. The holy line (it must always go up) lead to H-1Bs, Jeets, and countless American industries being sent overseas to enrich a handful of shifty Jews and shithole countries like Vietnam or China. Let the line go down for a while. As a bonus, this will REALLY hurt the boomers.
You should've trusted the plan. We were only 4 years away from the shitlib utopia if we elected Kamala. Stupid magatards threw it all away.

SCOTUS stayed an order requiring Department of Education to give infiity gibs for diversity. Roberts dissented
Barret coming through for once.

I’m glad Robert’s legacy will just be eternal screeching over Roe vs Wade. He’s earned it.

So what is Trump's plan behind the tariffs?

Even if it's encouraging domestic manufacturing, we still need the raw materials and equipment to build the plants all of which will be more expensive.

New Nintendo console, new iPhone, new overpriced shoes sorry shoe guy the latest temu or wish gadget they saw on TikTok or instagram it's all the same high time preference bullshit of weak minded dopamine addicted individuals with nothing worthwhile in their lives to turn their attention to.
Perhaps after the withdrawals are through, they'll find they can focus on making and building skills instead of consuming.
Gardening, sewing, crafts, fishing, hunting, woodcarving, even some backyard chickens if they've got the room. All much more fulfilling and satisfying than consoooooming all the time.
I possess quite a few of these skills you are talking about, but I'm still going to bitch about my new Switch being expensive. Sorry.

It costs 13k per month for my grandmother's nursing home granted she's greatest generation not boomer but if reddit NEETS think they have big inheritances coming they're delusional.

Boomers will burn every single penny they have on hairbrained medical schemes desperately clinging to life well into the 2050s.
The Boomers were promised lives of unparalleled luxury and opulence. Granted, it was they themselves who promised themselves this, but it doesn't matter, the promise must be kept.

This included immortality -- the eggheads were supposed to science us out of this "Aging" shit by now. The good times were never supposed to end. Unfortunately all the anti-aging treatments they have experimented with, like Telomere extensions, instantly cause mega turbo autistmo niggercanceraids and kill you stone dead within months.

It should be fun watching the boomers slowly come to terms with the realization that no amount of forcing the line to go up will keep the reaper at bay, and worse, their kids can't afford to put them in a 13k (lets be honest they'll want the GOOD home with white nurses, so 35k) a month nursing home because whoops turns out fucking over the next generations and the economy so you could go waste money in vegas every few months is a bad idea after all they just don't have any work ethic, the lazy bastards.

America has literally no natural resources other than niggers, we're doomed.
I hope you're kidding. We have a lot of natural resources. Including rare earth minerals. There's just a ton of red tape put up by nimbys and environmentalists.

If Trump could cut through that and tell the two groups to fuck off, we'd be fine.

I'm not advocating for dumping car batteries into the oceans. But the environmentalists have gone too far.

MAGA patriots are now unironically promoting leftist anti-consumerist/anti-technological values and the return to an unironical agrarian society. Very American indeed.

What a ride.

So what is Trump's plan behind the tariffs?
It’s probably a mistake to think about it in fiscal policy or geostrategic terms.

You’ve got to think about it from Trump’s point of view. Now, any US oligarch who wants his empire not to be completely fucked will come to Trump on his knees, cap in hand, begging for a carve out. In return: fealty and geld.

It’s simple mob tactics. Trump is an autocrat. He doesn’t really care what damage he does either domestically or overseas. Global recession? Who gives a fuck, it can only be of benefit to the 0.1% that he represents.

whoever masterminded the complete 180° turn on EV's by both Rednecks and Libshits is a genius and they deserve whatever wealth and power they have. That was some brilliant social engineering.

How hard do you think it is to buy an injection molding machine or a CNC mill? Most Chinese-made goods are simple things that a small shop can make.
Yes and no. Even if a lot of the the consumer goods manufacturing that presently outsourced to China comes back to the US, these tariffs are still likely to raise prices on them, at least in the short term.

Small tooling like a desktop CNC mill or injection molding machine are likely themselves to be cheap shit of Chinese origin. With American manufacturing being hollowed out over the past several decades, combined with increasingly sophisticated automation, anything less than full blown big professional machines that start at $100k and go up from there, is likely to be either worn out obsolete manual machines from decades ago, or a Chinese copy of the same made from cheaper materials that will wear out quickly.

Then there's the design skills factor. Like it or not, with manufacturing having been outsourced to China for decades, China has gotten very good at designing things to be manufactured profitably to a price point. It is somewhat counter-intuitive, but it takes skill and work to make things a cheap and shitty as most Chinese goods are, and I don't think US firms have people with those skills in large quantity. It remains to be seen if they can train new personnel into those skills quickly.

Yes they do. They have infinite tariffs on American beef and chicken, for example.

Just because they say that their regulations are for “safety” instead of for trade reasons doesn’t make that true.
Given that RFK might be onto something with his whole "Make America Healthy Again", I'm inclined to think there may be some truth to the EU restrictions on US meat products being for safety reasons. I'm sure trade protectionism is part of it too, but I'm not willing to completely dismiss that they might actually have valid health & safety reasons for not wanting to buy our meat products.
