As long as I got my Smith and Wesson I don't have to worry about retirement savings.
Can’t rob anyone if they’re all poor too lol.

Yes but their work options are limited and they would also have to start a new degree program if they want to stay longer.

They just stay in a PhD program until they find a sponsor. Professors are happy to keep jeet assistants for years.

New York Warns Trump It Will Not Comply With Public School D.E.I. Order
when trump (actually doesnt but is framed as) ignoring any checks and balances its undermining democracy, when they do it its "defiant" newsflash fuckers defiant went from making people think of cool righteous rebels, to defiant pouty violent brats because of your shit. you cant play with language when youve been exposed as a snake. rebrand and rebrand and all you do is sink any value in things that you dunk under in a vain attempt to prop yourselves up. like drowning rats. i hope trump sends the military in and has these treasonous fucks on their knees begging not to be tried.

Not only that but suddenly they care about labor rights and working conditions in foreign countries. And environmental pollution from industries supplying the west!

Very amusing to see.
Yes.

It's this powerful ability called "changing your mind." Where the people in the party can realize that certain policies are damaging to the country and evolve their platform. Instead of spiraling into a death cult that acts as a parody of all the values it used to believe in.

I seem to recall that the big players in CNC machines still have plants here in the US, because it's easier to build the machine here than build them oversees and shipping them. Am I remembering wrongly?

Mazak - Made all over the globe but they have a plant in Kentucky, although not their largest production center.
Haas Automation - Exclusively made in California.
DigiMori - Made all over but have a plant in California as well.
Nakamura - Japan
Bridgeport - Made in Connecticut.

They aren't much bigger or more difficult to ship overseas than a car/truck. They're crated and package for travel fairly easily.

A lot of people (at least those I've spoken to) also didn't think it was that big a deal or frankly didn't think about it all until they saw the consequences staring them in the face.
They were busy living their lives and the "this is good for the country don't worry" was enough to keep their mind off it until all of a sudden it wasn't.

Everyone knows that elections have consequences. Yet somehow the consequences manage to take those who voted for them by surprise:
Consumers in Los Angeles County were shocked Tuesday as a new quarter-percent sales tax, ostensibly to raise funds for services for the homeless, went into effect following a referendum in November.
L.A. voters passed Measure A, which replaced and increased an earlier county-wide sales tax for the homeless. That tax, passed a decade ago, failed to stem the growth of the homeless population and may even have encouraged it.

Throw money at homelessness, get more homelessness. California has proven this law to be reliable, even if where the money actually goes remains a mystery:
L.A. residents recently learned that $2.3 billion spent on homeless services in Los Angeles had been unaccounted for — and the money had come from the same sales taxes that referendums like Measure A had been designed to fund.
Equitable utopia is never more than a few tax increases away, according to the neoliberal faith.

Nintendo: Hi, we know there’s been massiv backlash about our prices to the point our own live stream was flooded with demands for a lower price. Well, now we are delaying preorders explicitly because of tariff evaluations.

Normal people: right, so you’re making this about politics

Lefties: who made this about politics?

Are people really this stupid? They flat out said their delay was a tariff response, that’s Nintendo specifying it was politics. And I agree with that one guy in these comments, this is deflection to avoid the pricing backlash. But no, it’s all politics now
Is me adjusting my bookkeeping practices to take advantage of the TCJA making it about politics?

Like sure, they could be bullshitting about the reason for the delays, but we don't know that yet. If they are being honest that the tariffs are making them reevaluate whatever, that's not political, that's business.

yeah ill get right on making bush or obama or biden care about kids here, fucking let alone workers over there. idk maybe if i had complained more about foreign polluters hed cripple industry here further to pretend hes fixing the problem when its actually over there.
half of them probably tried to censor this site anyway.

Fuck Haas, they're run by bean counters and every feature standard on other machines is an additional option you have to pay for.

They're only popular because they gift training consoles to technical schools.

What was wrong with Biden's economic policy from your perspective ? What can you criticize him for that can't be said about Trump ?
Inflation from January 2017 - December 2020 (Trump's Presidency): 242.839 to 258.811 -- 6.577% increase.
Inflation from January 2021 - December 2024 (Biden's Presidency): 261.582 to 313.689 -- 19.920% increase.
[ Sauce / Archive ]

Inflation tripled (3.029 times) under Biden. To put it in terms of purchasing power, $100 at the start of Trump's term was only worth $93.83. After four years of Biden, $100, was worth $83.39 (alternatively, that $93.83 left after Trump left office was now down to $78.24.

Sure, COVID was ongoing. But the restrictions and bonus bucks that were in place during 2021 and even 2022 didn't help because inflation for those years were at or above the average rate for the previous four years combined. It took until 2023 for inflation to finally slow down again and that's not taking into account whether supply chain issues are still messed up. To little, too late for most consumers? Perhaps.

Will inflation be worse under Trump's second term with these tariff wars? Time will tell, especially with his first term tax policies that put more money back in taxpayer wallets (by virtue of increased standard deductions) set to expire this year unless they're renewed by congress. Most normies care most about how much money they have on hand to pay for stuff and how much more expensive bill-paying becomes over time. The onus is now on Trump to show he can do better than Biden did in that respect.
