To me, Nintendo died when they made online features paywalled behind their shit subscription. It's not expensive, mind you, but what it represents is what angers me. You could see the writing on the wall about the company's greed.
I do have to wonder if it has any connection with infiltration through investors or something along the lines. They were already successful, so why would they want even more?

Yeah, game cartridges had dedicated hardware built-in, and the boards and such cost quite a bit to manufacture compared to nowadays. I don't buy the inflation excuse when Nintendo consoles have stayed relatively the same MSRP price over the years (ignoring inflation). Much like with NVIDIA, it's probably because they want to break even, but unlike NVIDIA, they have things to subsidize the cost with.

Original Switch systems before 2019 or so can use something called an RCM jig (that can be bought online for cheap) to be boot into a recovery mode, which you can upload a payload (Hekate) to the system via something like TegraRCMGUI (Unsure what's used instead on Linux). Switch Lite and Switch OLED systems require a separate modchip iirc.

I remember using custom firmware not that regularly (Outside of dumping ROMs and overclocking for games with slowdown) because the process of updating Hekate, Atmosphere CFW, the sigpatches (for dumping games and running pirated games), and such after each console update became such a pain in the ass to figure out regularly, and it doesn't help that Hekate doesn't have built-in updating functionality.

In 20 years, the average price for a Nintendo game has nearly doubled. Not to mention the price for the console itself. And the console looks incredibly cheap too, like it'll break if tilts and falls over.

I am interested in what they do with Metroid 4, though. There is potential for the telepathy mechanics, especially the "curve the bullets" thing and solving puzzles with it.

Something I have noticed over the years got me in schizo thunking. Notice how Nintendo had a smaller NES, SNES type of controller but that turned into bigger controllers like for the N64 and GC. I liked the bigger controllers because it was a workout for my hands and help me with some hand-eye coordination which was good for when I play sports. For the Switch, I hate the joycon because of how fragile it is. I was thinking if Nintendo did the wii mote because they wanted children to be more athletic. But now it seem they are catering to fatties who don't have good grip strength, so you have to be more gentle with the controller.

Can we get back to talking about how Synth is a chud faggot, his content sucks, and luckily his core audience is comprised of many people who would take him out in a gay murder/suicide if they don't get enough attention from him? I fear that it will be like Prime 3's motion controls: basically just a useless gimmick that feels like it's checking off a box that they had to include the feature that a console has. I'd be impressed if it actually manipulated gameplay but maybe you've seen something I haven't. All I've seen so far is it being used as a door opening mechanic which isn't impressive at all. I mostly just want to see an emulator spring up for the Switch 2 because I'm not spending a dime for anything from Nintendo now or ever.

I understand, but responding with indifference is not a “no”. It is a pr driven response for him not to say “no” or “yes” as he is aware that he will alienate a large portion of his audience if he gives a real answer.
