I just checked with my husband (who is working as a direct support professional while pursuing a degree in psychology). He said that , although it wouldn't be easy, Jace's mom could have him committed (potentially using his vlogs and tweets as evidence of his mental instability). My husband said that the better alternative, would be to have him placed into a 21 day rehab (they're 21 days here in NH, not sure about anywhere else): depending on how this goes, he could end up being committed.

Let's hope this is the case

It's really fucking hard to get a gorwn adult committed. Even with all his videos and tweets it would be a battle to get him committed against his will. Even then, he would have to want to change.

Would it still be hard to get someone committed if they have a documented history of mental illness? Judging by his tweets Jace has been on meds before, so I'd guess he has something at least similar to Chris' Autism Papers.

It helps, but like I said you have to be able to convince a Judge that he is a danger to himself and those around him to get in committed. His latest stunt with the car might be enough, but like I said, they make it hard for a reason.

It's hard, but not impossible. I personally know of a couple of cases where this happened. In each case, the person who was committed was over 21 and a proven danger to themselves and others. In one of the more extreme cases, the individual had a guardian appointed by the state, because their family couldn't deal with them and their antics. Again, this was in my state, it may very well be different elsewhere.

I think you need to go in front of a judge and swear that they need help and they can then be taken away for a 24 or 48 hour period of observation. During that time however if Jace were to act completely normal, they'd have no reason to keep him. Of course laws like this don't always work the same depending on where you live.

Having said that, I don't think Jace is completely gone.

He seems lucid enough to recognize that being Stryker is not possible when he's on his meds. Or I might simply be reading more into this than is actually there.

So how do you think the Wacko Siege will end?

Will Jason Koresh's weed set fire to his room?

Will SWAT bust in the door and beat his arse?

Will he come out for gamersnax and get maced by Mommeh?

So many variables...

It could honestly be the best thing for him. His family just isn't equipped to deal someone as mentally imbalanced as he is. For all we know, Jace may have been part of the reason his father left (yes, pure speculation here). His parents may have had very different opinions regarding the appropriate therapy for Jace, which could have also been a source of contention / tension between them. Not only that, but simply living with someone like him would be hard on any family.

Do we know how long ago Jace's dad walked out? Also, Does he have family active in his life other than Gail and Robert that we know of?

Wasn't there some incident where Jace wrecked his car street racing? I thought that this was the reason his driving privileges had been suspended. There are also the videos where he's driving to Tyce's house to shoot him with his airsoft deagle. In these videos, he seems like he's more focused on hitting Tyce and not paying attention to the road. If either of these examples aren't enough, the video of him driving away in his mom's car after completely flipping his shit should do the trick.

lol It wasn't street racing. I forget what it was exactly, but that was just his cover story

Thanks! I wasn't sure. I'm kinda new to the whole Jace thing and still playing catch-up.

Did he have have his own car at some point, and did he wreck it? Just curious because I remember it being mentioned but I'm a bit fuzzy on the details.

I wonder if Outward Bound would help Jace? It might help disabuse him of some of his tough guy notions / illusions. It's a great program, and it really builds character and self-esteem (I did it when I was 17). The Maine wilderness program (which is the one I did) isn't too far away and, from what I've heard about Jace's family, they should be able to afford it. It's not psycho therapy, but it would certainly be more beneficial than Jesus camp. The whole rugged outdoor self-sufficiency thing might appeal to the tough guy pull yourself up by your own bootstraps survivalist in him. Then again, he might not last long. There's always the potential of him wimping out, and his presence could be disruptive / annoying to the other participants.
