So...what do you suggest we do about it?
He's clearly shitting his pants and doing nothing.
They wanted to push the collapse off until just after they died.

Does anyone remember the 1999 Battle for Seattle, the OG black bloc protests against the WTO?

Trump would be a fucking hero to those guys
Boomers were more than content to let their kids and grandkids suffer because they got theirs. They are honestly the most hateful and spiteful generation as a whole and it isn't even close.

So... let me get this straight.

At 10:10 AM ET, rumors emerge that Trump is considering a 90 day pause on tariffs, stemming from some offhand, completely non informational comment made by a staffer.
10:15 AM, CNBC runs with a false story that Trump is thinking about pausing the tariffs.
By 10:18 AM, The S&P index added over 3 Trillion in value over it's lowest point of the day.
10:26 AM, CNBC retracts it's story, saying it was incorrect.
10:35 AM, White House says that was fake news.
By 10:40 AM, The S&P index erases 2 1/2 Trillion in value from the day's high. Which was 20 mins earlier.

Nigga...

My man, you should've seen the shit that went down 2020-2022.

The market going into the green today is hilarious.
I've been watching the market all day and I actually have a really well developed theory on this.

It's important to know where money is coming from. Traditional US firms are, in fact, selling for the most part. All day the market has fallen to 3-5 down before jumping back up to about 0.5 up, it's been happening all day. The question is, where the fuck are these tens of billions of dollars coming from?

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you today's Asian indexes.

Asia is a total loss. Beyond correction and into bear territory. Asian markets are highly dependent on the manufacturing and export sectors, which are heavily dependent on US consumption. Tariffs plus weak US consumer confidence has Asian investors panicking.

What I think is happening, is these Asian investors are playing the long game. They are predicting a Trump victory and stock rebound, and are dumping their Asian holdings for US ones, replacing domestic money with their own, waiting for the rising tide to make their money back when domestic money returns to the market. The grand irony, of course, is that by predicting a Trump victory and acting on that prediction, they have very likely made it a reality.

The whole thing is quite fascinating, really.

I think you may be right, Carl.

Real shit: I'm honestly giddy, warm, and fuzzy on the inside that the White House Twitter page is actively celebrating the decade-long sobriety of JD Vance's mother. I've known people who died to their vices before they ever turned 25, I've had coworkers who almost lost it all and got their shit back together, and I have IRL friends who've done the same. A sobriety anniversary is honestly worth celebrating, and it feels like we're normalising recovery from addiction again instead of celebrating the vices that bring us there in the first place.

Staying sober for a decade is something worth celebrating. Good on her and good on them for highlighting it.
