Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I dont get what's so great about this game. It plays identical to SWTOR in almost every way.
It had a pretty good story up through Endwalker and the monetization is relatively non-predatory compared to pretty much every other big MMO. Also it actually has attractive characters unlike Biowareslop.

The static and I just managed to clear M7S. We were going for the full tier week 1 but people kept fucking up the adds phase in 6 and Strange Seeds in 7. I honestly don't like this raid tier, maybe the normals are fine but savages suck. Too many adds in 6 and 7 and 7 is filled with the boss jumping around which is obnoxious. 5 is a masterpiece so depending on how 8 is the tier might be redeemable imo.

Gratz on the clear, man! This one actually took our static a bit longer too, we were down a member and couldn't find anyone for the slot who wouldn't keep fucking up the adds phase.
Did you clear 8? What's your opinion of the tier?

We're close, but still progging M8S now that we've got a new static member to fill our missing tank slot. I really really like this fight but husband says he finds the mechanics annoying. It feels a lot more entertaining than 7 did to me if that helps at all.

Side note but I saw some of Xeems progging M8S and he was hard stuck.
His static ended up kicking their trash monk out and replacing him with Arthars and they literally cleared the very next pull lmaooo

Imma go watch the VOD now

edit: the youtube VODs channel doesn't have the m8 prog and the twitch VODs are subscriber-only :lossmanjack:

The monk in question is Bahamut' Ali.
Judging by how much he was on the floor when going through normal, he didn't have much hope to begin with.

People were memeing about it in the comments of his clear vids on youtube.

Apparently he was so bad, that the entire static had to adjust around him. They gave him the easiest spots and had call outs specifically for him. But he was hard stuck on M8S, so the static made the choice to kick him. I dunno how the monk feels about it but they are all friends so...
Goes to show that even if you're friends with someone, if they're bad at the game, they're bad at the game. Not even the power of friendship and save that sinking ship.

Which one, Adamantoise? 0 EX trial logs and a grey M5S parse lol

Looks like they had a bunch of purple and orange parses last expac and cleared DSR and TOP so wtf happened? Are they just completely washed up now? Did he suffer a TBI in a car accident?
According to some people, while he does decent damage, he's really bad at doing mechanics.
No clue why.
Maybe it's melee brain, you get so focused on dealing damage that you stop paying attention to literally everything else?

I honestly don't know.

He might've used stuff like cactbot which is obviously not really available to him on completely new content. I've known a lot self-professed gigachads who completely choke when they don't have their robo voice doing callouts for them.

Probably not a big deal in the long-run tbh. If he's in the Xeems circle, he'll get his clear eventually when Xeems is doing reclears with groups completely gooped out on gear.

Finally did the normal raids, I gotta say the first tree are a lot more manageable than the previous set, like I can at least tell whats happening and process it. My only complaint is how "boring" the fourth fight felt when compared to brute bomber's rematch, besides why the fuck does the dude turn into a phantasy star online character if he's using the soul of fenrir?
After finishing, my friend showed me a vid of the savage transition and boy that looked far more interesting, not sure why the normal version couldn't have a transition like that, maybe not as drastic.

They typically put something extra in the last fight of the savage tier. It's been tradition at least since the Eden's Gate tier when I started. It's a nice little surprise to see what happens.

From what I remember it’s been there since Stormblood with the first raid tier for the FF5 boss fanservice including the Neo Exdeath part in the savage version of that fight.

Yes, O4S started the tradition of Savage only phases in the final encounter. E4S was the first to do it without a checkpoint.

Technically, A8S did it first. And it had no checkpoint.

Normal Mode: Onslaughter, adds phase, Brute Justice, J Kick, Brute Justice (Same healthbar) (Technically J Kick is skippable in Normal Mode, but this is only likely to happen with Blue Mages and you're there to get that spell in the first place.)
Savage: Onslaughter, adds phase, Brute Justice, J Kick, Brute Justice (Same healthbar), J Kick 2, Gavel.

Oh you are correct. I completely forgot that he does pop out some wings and glow.
