Trade War 2025 - You get tariffs and you get tariffs, tariffs for everyone!

There is literally nothing going on inside their heads except "it makes duh liberuls mad", anything else they say is grasping at rationalization.
Trump fans are being incredibly petty and smug about this policy when its effects are premature at this time. By later in this year will we be able to tell if it was a hiccup or the beginning of a bear market or Trump will change course. I simply have my doubts about whether it will have the intended effect of bringing back American manufacturing and employment back.

Trump cultist went from "Biden ruined the economy" to "Trump is destroying the economy but it's good because it punishes the boomers, the rich, the jews (insert any group trump serves here)

The narrative that the stock market falling is sticking it to the boomers stops making sense the second you think about it for a few seconds. First off gen Z and Millennials invest disproportionally in the stock market because real estate and private equity is to expensive. On the topic of real estate that is actually going up now because the tariffs will make building more of it more expensive and when stocks underperform people move to real estate because it's safer. Second Trump abolished the social security tax one of the few things that hurt the boomers.

High real estate cost is the main contributing factor to America's cost of living. Consumer good cost and wages have always been things America had pretty good. The average American spends half their income on their housing.

Koch and Leo Leonard just sued to stop Trump's tarriff's in federal court today in court using the Major Question's Doctrine argument
Their statement:
“His attempt to use the IEEPA this way not only violates the law as written, but it also invites application of the supreme court’s major questions doctrine, which tells courts not to discern policies of ‘vast economic and political significance’ in a law without explicit congressional authorization,” its statement said."
The doctrine was used to overturn Biden's rent freeze orders during the pandemic and his student loan forgiveness programs.

Nigger, you live in a country where working in McDonalds puts you on par with an average europoor engineer by purchasing power, let alone comparing with less qualified workers in even worse parts of the world. You're already in world's top 5% if you're a functioning US-born individual. You have everything to lose.
If it means completely crushing the EU economy for decades and fully buck breaking the faggot canadians then I think its worth the risk.
If your an actual good europoor engineer then you can move here, or stay there and starve.

Why would I lower my standard of living to work in the US? The EU will be fine because the main issue hitting us right now will mainly harm the US in the long run.

My current theory is that Trump(/his administration) is trying to address legitimate grievances, doesn't believe Congress is capable of moving on these grievances (much less across a multi-election cycle timeframe), and so is trying to accelerate the final crisis right now, from the Executive branch, while he's at the peak of his power. If they get to bully other countries into dropping their tariffs and get to refinance the debt at lower rates then all the better.

I agree on the Congressional point. They've had 30 years to do something about the gutting of America's industrial base and have failed spectacularly. There's no evidence of a broad, nonpartisan political will to execute an onshoring agenda over the span of 10-15 years.

All of this is happening against a backdrop of waning American power, which is independent of any particular administration. I just think it's far too much and too quickly, and far too late.

The stock market is pure cancer and I hope it collapses and never rebounds. The only kind of stock I can tolerate is stuff like Winco where only employees own stock. The second a company goes public it immediately becomes shit because the focus isn't on the product, it's on marketing and enshittification to save a few nickels. If you buy stocks I honestly hope you end up jerking off punks under a bridge for 5 dollars a man. CRASH THIS PLANE WITH NO SURVIVORS.

If your so confident the EU will win then I guess you have nothing to worry about? I just wonder why all your fellow europoor friends seem to be seething so hard about the actions of our President? You would think if they thought the EU would come out ahead they would be cheering the trade war on, no?
Or am I to believe europeans, who shit on Americans constantly, all of a sudden care about our financial well being?

No not the heck and speculators and stockbrokers and the boomers with the 401K's ah the humanity the stock market is not actually an indicator of the health of a nation May all stock prices drop another 150% also half of the companies in the United States like Tesla Microsoft Amazon and Apple are overvalued anyways just the market reaction really

If the EU was not retarded and went for Russia/China they would laugh all the way to the bank.

But have you seen EU leadership? They are just as retarded as the US elites.

It is these groups - the penguins and seals - caught up in this trade war that my heart bleeds for. they are already struggling to feed their young; and now Trump does this.
