If your so confident the EU will win then I guess you have nothing to worry about? I just wonder why all your fellow europoor friends seem to be seething so hard about the actions of our President? You would think if they thought the EU would come out ahead they would be cheering the trade war on, no?
Or am I to believe europeans, who shit on Americans constantly, all of a sudden care about our financial well being?
First of all, Europeans talk shit about each other all the time; you think America is exceptional in this regard.
Hell, take two Europeans from the same country, and they will savagely mock each other; it is a normal pass time. It's not my fault so many Americans are thin-skinned.
Second, I think the EU will get out of it the best because it is having issues with the US, the rest of the world is free, and the things the EU makes tend to be high-tier in terms of end product. Like the things the company I work for makes, if you want the best in the world that lives up to precise margins, we are about the only ones who make them with the guarantees we give, so our customers have to absorb the cost or go out of business. Before you go, "But some American company," yes, one could take our place. Still, the issue with competing with established manufacturing is that it takes time to scale. The experience needed to develop specialized parts may not be available.
Will an American company wait 5-10 years to get a product they need? Can they afford to wait that long? That's the question.
Then there is the problem of Pivoting. If an EU company loses the US as an attractive market, it can pivot to the internal market in Europe and the rest of the world.
If a US company has the same problem with the EU or China, it can only pivot to its own internal market, thereby limiting potential customers.
Of course, I am not sure how this will play out. Maybe the orange man is a genius, and I am too limited in my understanding of only 2D chess to get his 6D backgammon moves. It is possible, but this entire thing seems stupid to me.
