The Economic Collapse of 2025 - Are you tired of winning yet?

Also true, I just doubt it's going to work as intended. China isn't some Arab third world shithole you can strong-arm into doing your bidding.
The Chinese don't seem to do well with objects that spin rapidly or that are designed to transport people between floors, perhaps we could use this to our advantage.

Why do some of you scumfucks want us to sanction Russia so we can go to war with them? kill yourself
There’s already sanctions against Russia, dumbass.

I don’t know why but I’m amazed by the panic going on.

This is just the first step of many to fix the US economy. Our adversaries will bend the knee because they all need access to the worlds largest consumer market, full stop.

Believe it or not Trump is smart enough to understand that factories can’t be built overnight (and unfortunately a large percent, if not the majority, of US factory workers are foreigners ). The tariffs will eventually be negotiated to where they are equitable for once, where the US will no longer be getting screwed.

The increased cost of foreign goods will be more than offset by the elimination of the income tax, which the Trump admin is serious about eliminating for those who make less than $150,000 per year.

FIFTY DOLLARS +tip for every package from China regardless of value

AliExpress delivers to fucking Sudan but not the United States anymore.

None of this is good and we're all fucked, but yeah- Id add that there's a bit of scheudenfreude here as well with basically every millennial Ive seen

First we had the 08' crash and years of noone being able to find jobs, missing out of opportunities, 1/10 people finding a job in their field, tech- etc.

90% of this generation being underemployed and noone giving a shit, and usually worse- just saying to eat less avocado toast.

Then we had the covid recession, and basically every small business closing down. One of my own closest friends had finally gotten his shit together, but relapsed in this period and died of a fentanyl overdose. His support network collapsed, jobs dried up, it was a nasty time and noone gave a shit (now we dont have local mom and pops, but amazon which raked in billions)

and now we have another 'Once in a lifetime' financial crisis.

I dont think what Trump wants to do is going to work. Im not cheering on the boomers demise necessarily, although I sort of am in a sense- but its like

they only act like this Now?

Fuck boomers man

Or conversely Japan could just drop their tariffs on US made cars, and then the US would reciprocate by dropping tariffs on their cars. Its not like it would hurt them. Nips are very loyal to native brands. Doubtful Ford could sell a car even IF there were no tariffs.

What is being missed in all the shrieking is the word "reciprocity". Yes, the USA has a trade imbalance with Madagascar because we import alot of vanilla and export fuck all to Madagascar. But Madagascar still has trade barriers up that would prevent the effort happening in the first place. Maybe some hog farmer would like to sell country hams to Madagascar. He can't. Because of the trade barriers. That don't occur in reverse. The complaints about the tariff reciprocity are "Bird in the Bush" arguments. The USA has a trade imbalance because its not exporting to these countries. But it Can't export in the first place, so no private company will do so. Self fulfilling and defeating prophecy.
Agreed. It's all about correcting the imbalances. Why doesn't Japan accept our cars? We protect them with a aircraft carrier permanently stationed in Japan at all times. It doesn't matter if it's a successful market. It's about making things fair.

Vietnam and India aren't high enough, we outsource a lot of our DoD manufacturing to those two places and I think that has a lot to do with it

then you can target that, putting tariffs on coffe or vanilla, things that the USA can not realistically produce in enough quantities is silly.

My question is why US imposed tarrifs on Singapore. They dont have tarrifs to US products. Is it because of some unfair practices?

What economic collapse? Gas isn’t more expensive, it’s cheaper than under Biden and much cheaper than it was under Obama. Eggs are more expensive because of a bird flu that is decimating US poultry and you know it’s just eggs because they never bring up any other foodstuffs. And even then eggs are like $1 more a dozen, not unobtainable and basically back to covid pricing. The only people affected are people trying to retire right now and their 401k dropped value, but if someone is that close to retirement then their money should have been moved into lower risk investments like bonds anyway. Don’t invest any money into the stock market that you aren’t willing to lose.
