I politely disagree with you on this. As much as I like to mock the Chinese, the CCP, and Xi Jinping himself, he will go down in history as a great man. In 1990, China was a backwater nothing. By 2010, they became an economic near-peer to the United States.
Xi didn’t take the helm until 2012, and he got elected by the CCP congress because he was expected to be moderate

Xi will be remembered as the guy who fucked up the plan because he wanted to accomplish it himself for his own glory instead of playing the long game
Yeah, the place looks like the 1940's when you drive 3 or more hours outside major cities, but the major cities are well-developed. You don't accomplish this if you're an idiot, or your country is filled with idiots; nor do you rise to the top of the CCP by sheer luck.

Xi Jinping's argument is simple: the US is top dog because of its economic dominance, and China can replicate that. Xi's bet is that his country is too economically important for these tariffs to last. Trump's bet is that Americans have the spunk to eat the short-term cost and reshore. The main issue with Trump's plan is you have to be a patriot to agree with it. Xi is betting that not enough of us are.

I am guessing it will fail.

It takes several years to build a factory, not even including sourcing new materials, rerouting supply chains, and training and employing people.

There are tariffs on the raw materials, so the sourcing of raw materials will need to be done domestically. There is no infrastructure to source these materials so that will need to be done before any factory to actually produce a good is built.

Trump is a fucking idiot.
Oh How hey Xiǎo yīnjīng how is that yellow dick treating you?

I don't know how you're surprised. It's the same thing that happened with North Korea last time. From "Trump is a deranged lunatic for calling Kim Jong Un "Rocket Man" and is going to kill everyone in WW3 because he has a small dick" to "Trump negotiating with Kim Jong Un is shameful to America because Kim is a dictator and this proves Trump is a dictator and a puppet of Putin"
Fair point but, I suppose I'm more surprised about the actual facts surrounding China if that makes sense?

Everybody has always known N Korea is a joke and the immigration is unpopular, etc. When they flip flop on these things it's just them coming to reality.

But I actually thought there was some validity to what they were saying about China benefitting from some of the tariffs. If there was any chance of that still happening they would be sticking to the line because they get a win win, being right about something (for once) and making Trump look bad.

Apparently the narrative that China has leverage in the economic fight has been bullshit the entire time? I guess we'll see.

I would like America much more if their government didn't consistently simp and suck off billionaires, CEOs, and capital owners.

Even right now, Republicans are working on a tax bill to give huge tax breaks for the wealthy while doing little to nothing for the regular person. I can't really be mad at a random Chinese person when these greedy rich faggots have a greater effect on my life.
Bait better, fed boy.

We've seen more effort and economical developments the past two months than in the past 30 years. If anyone could warp speed this things into reality it's probably Trump. But it has to be pushed to ludicrous speed.
The only thing worse than a leader acting without the mandate of heaven in defiance of God is a leader that HAS the mandate and waste it. I hope Trump uses the pax Americana to rush tech and manufacturing and get us to Mars. Godspeed Mr. President!

Wait… Italians make guns now? My god. This is more devastating than knowing we gave the Irish the status of being white.
They've got the market on reproductions of wild west guns and the high end shotgun market cornered. You want a nice shotgun? almost certainly going to be Italian. Beretta, FAIR, B. Rizzini, Abbiatico & savenelli, Cosmi ETC.

Xi was given power in 2013.

That's the fuckup, I get it's an early call, but the way Trump is picking up Democrats signals that protectionism is part of the "endorse breathing air" strategy.

Waiting this one out, is the absolutely the last thing to do if you care about money/power.

Without powerleveling too much, I work in manufacturing and people have an exaggerated idea of how hard it is to manufacture stuff. One of our products we manufacture in China OR in the USA depending on raw material costs and it's fluctuating all the time. We can easily just make it here instead if the tariff shit keeps going. We literally just start making it here, with the infrastructure we already have, which is nowhere near full capacity.

I can only talk about my little corner of the manufacturing world, but there are a lot of factories here that have been running at 75% capacity for years and could go to 100% in maybe 2 or 3 weeks.

I don't doubt your experience but that is under pre-tariff circumstances. Now every industry will try to do the same. The supply of raw materials will not be able to keep up with the demand of every firm trying to reindustrialize their particular industry.

wow you telling me the loser idiot on the internet who does nothing but whine about orange man all days has no idea about what working in manufacturing is actually like? Say it ain’t so.

Alright! My weeklong ban for talking about Stargate is over. That means STARGATE IS BACK ON THE MENU!
Anyone not rating this post informative is a fag.
Epstein and his pedophile banker CEO buddies sent your jobs over to China and told you to buy a plasma TV for cheap.
Strange way to describe the political argument trade normalization with China would politically moderate them, and offer a future market.
Maybe try CSPAN from the 1990's?
